While undertaking foundation construction for the new Tawatina Bridge on the north side of the North Saskatchewan River in downtown Edmonton, steel sheet pile cofferdams were installed as a temporary enclosure to hold back water and permit construction work below the river line. During cofferdam construction a large unknown concrete obstacle, approximately nine meters below the surface, was encountered that prevented completion of the cofferdam.

Nothing suspicious all about the fact that nothing has been mentioned of this since. Nothing to see here, move along. Just Ancient concrete under the river bed... Was it even concrete? The must have removed it since. Where's the pictures? Why has there been no apparent interest from historians and geologists? Did they just demolish it and move along because their project was more important than real history? If anyone has anything on this ancient concrete slab in the North Saskatchewan River please get in touch with me.

4 years later and the bridge is finally built but the tunnels leading to it can't be opened because "the concrete pillars were poured w incorrect concrete and are now cracking" That whole area is contested as sacred aboriginal grounds (and was once the city dump) I wonder if they didn't find something digging around there and have to cover their tracks [no pun intended]

They would simply dump any concrete back in the day. They also started pouring concrete at the bottom of landfills in the 1920's. Could be either of those if it was an old dump.

A potentially ancient piece of concrete from a past civilization, and that's all there is to say about it? Nothing to see here, just build over it and get the job done. Where are the archeologists at? I just now found out about this discovery and it frustrates me (but doesn't surprise me) that nobody looked more into it, as far as we know.

I think its pretty obvious by now that there's people and/or groups (including governments) that will do almost anything to hide the truth of humanity's ancient past. I'm not concluding this has anything to do with that, but the fact there was never any followup report and this amazing mysterious discovery vanished from the radar might be a sign.

I just read an article that was from 2021. It basically said that it was still unfinished. It would not say much about the concrete slab except it is roughly the size of a car. The author of the article seemed particular annoyed about the slab.
