First, THANK YOU very much for the help and prayers with the St. Jude fundraiser that launched last week. Whatever this round of 52in52 turns into, hoping to bring some healing for those who are struggling. For this video, I feel extremely weird posting it. Temple Lot was a big mystery, so to see my cardinal connections that Sunday morning was strange. Let me know what you think below.

"And again, another parable put He forth unto them, having an allusion to the Kingdom that should be set up, just previous to or at the time of the harvest. "Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field: which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof." Now we can discover plainly that this figure is given to represent the Church as it shall come forth in the last days. Behold, the Kingdom of Heaven is likened unto it. Now, what is like unto it? Let us take the Book of Mormon, which a man took and hid in his field, securing it by his faith, to spring up in the last days, or in due time; let us behold it coming forth out of the ground, which is indeed accounted the least of all seeds, but behold it branching forth, yea, even towering, with lofty branches, and God-like majesty, until it, like the mustard seed, becomes the greatest of all herbs. And it is truth, and it has sprouted and come forth out of the earth, and righteousness begins to look down from heaven, and God is sending down His powers, gifts and angels, to lodge in the branches thereof" (Joseph Smith).

Hi David. My story is very similar to yours. I was born in Jackson County, moved to Florida at 15, moved to Texas at 21, Baptized LDS at 23 in Amarillo Texas, took a road trip back to KC hometown, ended up in Independence. The thought came to us, "There is something going on here." Later on during my LDS mission in Belize I ran into two people who I met in Independence: An RLDS Apostle who gave us a tour of the tabernacle, and a Samoan LDS Missionary who was at a Young Single Adult activity at the LDS Independence chapel. My conversion story also has a lot of mosaic pieces that all came together similar to yours. That was all about 35 years ago, now I'm in the Stake Presidency in Santa Fe NM. I have been following you for about a year now. I have loved your journey. Joe Lockwood

God speaks to YOU through cardinals! He speaks to me through music. I am glad that you do not dismiss these cardinals because God knows YOU personally and KNOWS that they mean something to you! I just bet that when the person painted the garden room mural in the Manti Temple way back in the 1940’s, I bet the person was inspired to add a cardinal. They might have thought “why a cardinal because we don’t have those here in Utah but ok I’ll paint one!” This cardinal was put there for YOU way back in the 40’s!! YOU specifically because YOU needed it to confirm your faith and to comfort you!! He is THAT loving and kind. We call it “tender mercies” from God. Your journey has and will continue to bring others to him. ❤ You have been willing to follow him and do his will inspite of the difficulties it might bring. He will strengthen you and bring you peace and joy.

Over 20 years ago I visited Adam-ondi-Ahman with some friends (who were Latter-day Saint young adults). Had a very spiritual experience where we all kneeled to pray. We were surrounded by trees and it was so peaceful. I’d never prayed as they were outloud from the heart. (I was still catholic then). They were taking turns praying in a circle. When it got to me (I was last), I started praying. When I was done almost everyone was crying. I guess they thought they were done praying, and were surprised and touched when I joined in. Just another small experience in my conversion and spiritual journey. 😁

Thanks for sharing this experience, David. My wife and I visited this spot (temple lot in Independence) back in 1987. I remember we met a man from the Hedrickite church (Church of Jesus Christ, Temple Lot) and he was very kind and friendly. I don't remember all that we discussed, but do recall him saying that they were basically the caretakers of the sacred space and that they planned to hang on to it to preserve it as such. I recall coming away with the feeling that it was in good hands. We also visited Adam-ondi-Ahman and the Far West temple site, both of which were spiritually moving experiences for us, and also the Liberty Jail site, where they have an indoor reconstruction of Liberty Jail, where Joseph and Hyrum were imprisoned for many months in very harsh conditions. I recall when visiting Adam-ondi-Ahman, having a very strong impression that it was also a very sacred spot, kind of a surreal experience there, and such a beautiful and peaceful spot, I felt very much at peace there. We also visited the site of Haun's Mill. I'm really glad you are continuing your channel, and love how you have included the donation fund for combating Children's cancer :)

Hi David, I found it interesting that you mentioned that you saw 5 cardinals on your baptism day and since I recently have been interested in numbers symbolisms in the Bible I asked AI about it and that’s what it came up: “The number five in the Bible symbolizes God's grace, goodness and favor toward humans ¹. It is recorded 345 times in Scripture and when it is multiplied by itself, it produces 25 which is 'grace upon grace' (John 1:16) ¹. The Ten Commandments contains two sets of 5 commandments, the first five commandments are related to our treatment and relationship with God with the remaining one concerned with our relationship with others humans.” I hope it’s something meaningful to you. I’m so glad you got baptized! Welcome brother!!!

One of the remarkable things to me, having visited the temple lot twice in my lifetime, is that, in this bustling metropolis of Kansas City (Arrowhead Stadium is just 6 miles away and President Harry S. Truman's childhood home and presidential library are just down the street), the lot still remains untouched. So interesting that someone would see Joseph's dedication of the site for a temple as a failed prophecy when The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has not had any ownership in the property for centuries and yet the property remains undeveloped. In God's infinite wisdom and his desire to honor our agency to choose, He allows us to see things from a lens of faith or disbelief.

I found the boots interesting, my third great grandfather Joseph Stewart Allen was an early member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a pioneer. He was also one of Joseph Smith’s bodyguards. While he was crossing the plains fleeing persecution on his way to Utah, he had no shoes and his feet became so bloody swollen and sore he could barely walk. No one in his company had any boots to spare and many like him had to make the long journey on bare feet. Finally he knelt down and prayed. He was a man of great faith and he asked for God to provide him with some shoes so he could continue his journey with the Saints to Zion. A little while later he came upon a stump and there on was a pair of boots exactly his size. This was in the middle of nowhere. This miracle was one of many that occurred to help the Saints on their journey west. I recommend the TC Christensen film 17 Miracles. Actually all of his films are amazing. The temple lot is a sacred space and I believe it will one day be a part of the New Jerusalem here once Christ has returned.

Hey David! Thank you so much for your videos, they are always very enlightening! You mentioned the difference between the trinity and the Godhead, and this is one of my favorite topics of discussion, so I thought I'd just add my two cents. This is coming from the perspective of a returned missionary, faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. John 17:3 says "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." Clearly it is important to understand the nature of God, who He is, and who His Son is. That's why Satan tries so hard to spread false information. This was actually one of the biggest debates in the early church, which lead to the councils of Nicea and the Nicene Creed (you should look up the history, its fascinating). But to understand that God, Jesus, and the Spirit are three separate being that are united in purpose gives us clarity on so many other points of doctrine. For example, the resurrection. Paul clearly explains in 1 Corinthians 15 that if we consider ourselves Christians, we have to believe that Christ rose from the dead with a perfected body of flesh and bones. And that is important because through His resurrection, we will all be resurrected, too. But if He was already God the Father, and could just take any form He wanted, and cast off His body after having been resurrected, then what was the point? Why should we be so anxiously awaiting the resurrection? The other scriptural passages that are clarified are when there is a distinction made between the will of the Son and the will of the Father. Why did Christ pray in the garden of Gethsemane "Father, please take away this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but then be done." Or on the cross "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" How could it possibly make sense for the Son's will to be swallowed up in the will of the Father if they were the same being? Or how could His Father withdraw His prescence if His own being was His prescence? Rather we learn that Jesus’s suffering and Atonement were perfect and supernal because He was a partially mortal being taking upon Himself our sins. And the perfect example He showed up was not that of some exalted being coming down to give a performance, but that of our older brother who was tempted just like us. For me, there is no more wonderful knowledge to possess than that of the true nature of my Father, my Savior, and my comforter. To reiterate, I don't write any of this to be combative or derogatory toward anyone who believes in the trinity. I have great respect for the doctrinal nuances of my Christian friends of other faiths. I just thought I would share some of my thoughts on the importance of the doctrine of the Godhead.

The temple really helped me understand the godhead better. But, I promise, understanding and peace come from diligent study of the scriptures and prayer. God will guide you if you try to listen to him being worthy of revelation from the Holy Ghost. It’s hard for me here to give a specific answer about your question of the godhead or trinity without knowing which part is hard. I have a lot of things I’ve learned that I’d love to share. I’m sure others would like to share their perspectives too. But the best witness comes from your own personal scripture study and time to pray to your Heavenly Father. God will answer you, I know. :)

Great video, thanks for posting it. One experience I had on my LDS mission that might help you with the Godhead, they are three separate beings but one in purpose. The Savior does the fathers will so perfectly that we get to know the Father by watching Son. So, to look at the Son is to look at the Father. I came across a woman on my mission who told us it was blasphemy to think they were separate individual beings and was very angry with us. After a strong lecture from her I asked if she had a KJV version of the Bible, and asked if she could get it. I had her read about the Savior in the Garden of Gethasame and how the Savior fell on His face and pleaded with His Father “please Father, if there be any other way, let this cup pass from Me, nevertheless not (My) will, but (Thine) be done” (Two separate wills). The Spirit came upon all of us and I calmly asked her “do you think Jesus was praying to Himself”? Begging Himself, if there be any other way? There were two wills in this sacred conversation, the Father’s and the Son’s. And what was the will of the Father? It was that his Son atone for our sins, even though the Son knew how hard it would be and was pleading with his Father, please let this cup pass from me. It was so calm and tears started to well in her eyes, she thanked us for coming and said it’s obvious I have a lot to study and much to think about. It was a wonderful moment to bask in the sweet, calm warm feeling of the Holy Ghost. We were all better for it. I don’t know if you have read the Doctrine and Covenants yet. There are the most amazing visions and prophecies in there. The brethren were discussing the ills of slavery and asked Joseph Smith “when is the next war that will come upon us? He inquired of the Lord and had a vision with “specific details” about the Civil War in section 87 and 30 years later it came to pass exactly how Joseph described it. Take care my Brother, Great job, I hope this helped a little.

There is a book called HE WALKED THE AMERICAS by Hansen L Taylor. This is a collection of native groups tell stories. The story of the pile of stones I think is in it. I may be wrong. I have so many things in my head, it is hard to sort them out any more. But the story is familiar and this is the closest place where it might be documented.

Twenty years ago, hearing that the church would have the Kirtland Temple in it's ownership was somewhat laughable. Many thought it would never happen. So when it comes to the temple lot in Independence Missouri, well, let's just wait and see.

They gave us a lot of things for way less than that . And I’m sure they will sell it eventually for just the right amount the Lord has put away for that sell . The community of Christ not only sold us kirtland temple but there in many many other important things in kiryland Ted brick store mansion house sidney Rigdons house artifacts more JST a lot of things for under 2 million .what a deal and no hard feelings Too. What a miracle . And after the sale the eclipse comes right over the kirtland temple and Nauvoo and palmyra New York and sacred grove . Hitting all these sacred places .

This guy's seems happy, like legitimately happy. Dude, don't let people cheapen the sanctity of the message you receive from cardinals. Clearly the Spirit is working through you in a language only you can understand, in a personal way and I think you know that's what it is. Let me put it this way. If you were to cross the veil and meet Jesus personally tomorrow and he gave you the whitest shirt you'd ever seen in your life and then resumed life the next day, how would you treat that shirt? You'd find any way possible to keep people from flinging mud at you and telling you that you were crazy. Your cardinals are just that. Stand firm in what you know. 👍🏻

Dear newest brother❤ For so many years, many people thought that the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints would never ever be able to own the Kirkland Temple. How could the Church of Christ give it up and yet they did. Overnight the deal was made and everything changed in one day . I know that the same thing will be true with the Temple lot. One day it will be ours. If the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints is headed by Jesus Christ and I believe it is, the path will open when The Lord’s timetable dictates.

Your words and videos touched my heart, especially your honesty and willingness to humble yourself intellectually and submit to God's plan rather than your own. Miracles still happen. I'm praying for my three sons, between the ages of 38-45, to return to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They each found an intellectual argument online that convinced them to walk themselves out of the church and away from truth and Christ. It's been heart rending for our family. Seeing you come to the Lord in such a gentle and believing way gives me hope. Thank you, and I know the Lord will continue to send you cardinals as you remain faithful. I hear music as an answer to my prayers; lines of a hymn will come to me and I'll have to stop and look up the piece to get the full message! He works in marvelous ways.

Hope you were able to also go to Far West, MO. A temple lot is dedicated there, and you can feel the difference of that ground while you step on & off of it. Many things to come. (You can read in D & C about that.) Since you are interested in Church History, you will be interested in finding more of the history of these places. You can also read "SAINTS". It is a great series on Church History.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will build a temple on the temple lot as part of Zion, the New Jerusalem, in God's own time. Look at how suddenly things can happen, as we saw with the purchase of the Kirtland Temple, which fulfilled the Lord's revelation to Joseph in D&C 117 that He would recover the property in His own due time. The keys and authority of temple work and temple building are in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and the Lord will open the way for Joseph's prophecies about Zion, the New Jerusalem in Missouri, to be fulfilled in His own due time. Thank you for sharing your experiences, and congratulations on joining the Church!

For Nauvoo, go during the Pageant in the summer and watch both the Nauvoo & British Pageants! They are awesome! And see the restored homes of Nauvoo. That is a "magical" place. Pres. Russell M. Nelson has said. “If you think the Church has been fully restored, you’re just seeing the beginning. There is much more to come. … Wait till next year. And then the next year. Eat your vitamin pills. Get your rest. It’s going to be exciting.”

...Hi David!...when I was a relatively new member of The Church of JESUS CHRIST of latter-day Saints, I ended up living in Independence, Missouri for a year...it was bizarre to me in the respect of ALL the various branches of "restoration" churches that were all over - I recall a man on the corner of Lees Summit Road with a sign yelling out about the Second Coming...I spoke to a young man & his sister who worked at a local health food store I frequented; the young man's name was Ammon, a valiant missionary whose life is written about in The Book of Mormon, so said as he was at the checkout line register, "Hi, You must be a member of The Church of JESUS CHRIST of latter-day Saints"...He says, "No"...I am a Hedrickite...we own the temple lot"...I became friends with him & his sister; trying to find common ground, we spoke often- in one phone conversation, I remember saying, "Well, I THINK we may be building a temple TOGETHER someday🌿...such NICE, just super-good, friendly people...[& I strive for that myself🌸]...I attended church at the stake center beside the Visitor's Center, across from what had just changed to Community of Christ temple...which was used as a community concert hall & other activities at times...The stories of SACRED GROUND, I certainly believe to be true...you may have heard of Adam-ondi-Ahman as well - another sacred spot that has great historical significance [as well as future significance in regards to what is to happen there]....joining The Church of JESUS CHRIST of latter-day Saints has proven to be THE BEST decision of my life & has brought blessings that I have not had "room enough to receive"...I believe the Savior is returning to earth soon - President Nelson & other leaders have never spoken so CLEARLY as they have been lately...the one I remember the most (being a former baseball/softball player:)is "we are the LAST AT BAT in the final inning"...GOD is SO GOOD to each of us to guide us uniquely & personably in our lives🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾

I always wanted to go to Missouri as my dad was from Joplin. Then I drove through East to West on Easter weekend 2011, touring Liberty jail that Easter-I could hardly believe it but the missionaries had it open! Then Independence and the Temple Lot. I wish I’d seen a cardinal, I love your cardinal sightings! As there are no cardinals in Utah I have to collect cardinal items for decoration, there’s just something about them… majestic maybe? We all have signs that are meaningful to us! I’ve always thought of the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Ghost as an ultimate team, but the parable of the wedding feast is in there also. It’s Heavenly Father’s plan, but Jesus & The Holy Ghost understand, comprehend and are committed to it absolutely. Anything the Father requires of them, they’re there. Just as kings and presidents don’t do every task (not can’t) He delegates-but they’re fully one in the purpose of the plan. And just as in a Galilean wedding, when the wedding feast comes, then is the time that the Father hands over full authority of His creation, and the ‘bride’ of the saints of the Church.

The story of the pile of rocks reminds me of the story of the founding of the Haudenosaunee confederacy at Onondaga Lake. The prophet known as the Peacemaker with the help of Aionwatha, brought peace to many nations. Together they planted the Great Tree of Peace. Which also reminds me of the burying of the swords in the Book of Mormon.

Wonderful comment! The Lord Jesus Christ couldn't have been more plain speaking than he was in that passage. I am reminded of the scripture in which Jesus Christ tells his disciples that there are many mansions in his father's house. He says that if it were not so, I WOULD HAVE TOLD YOU. If the trinity were actual truth, He would have told us so. He did not. He told us in John 17 that the separate but one in unity God head is truth.

@lindamartinez70067 ай бұрын
Straight is the way and narrow is the gate that leads to eternal life. Wide and broad is the road that leads to destruction . More people chose the wide then the straight and narrow . Meaning one church one Lord one baptism . Too many churches that do not lead you to the straight and narrow way . Which proper baptism and the Holy Ghost is the first step to the gate that is straight and narrow . Too many churches with scripture mingled with the philosophies of men . Which Satan loves . One church one baptism one Lord . One not two thousand like we have . Just one . That would be the restored church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints .

It’s great to revisit these stories after so many years and to hear it from new eyes. I have a testimony that when the temple is supposed to be built it will happen. I believed that we would aquire the Kirtland temple and we have seen that happen. What a beautiful transition. In Farr West there will be a block of 24 temples. Maybe Joseph will return to help with that. Who knows. I stand in awe of the beauty of the Kirtland temple because of the faith it took to build it. Missouri seems to be such a holy place that the adversary raged its ugly head. It probably needed cleansing. God seems to come through on his promises. Usually when we are ready. When you find the right girl I imagine many cardinals will appear. You have a spiritual sense. I was blessed to be born into a family who had discovered the restored gospel years before. My father was the second generation in his family to have the gospel. His father’s uncle prayed about 1910 to know who taught the Lord’s gospel. He had a vision of two young men coming down the street wearing white shirts. Within a year two young men came down the street wearing white shirts from Utah! That is no coincidence in rural SC in the early 1900s. Jonas joined the church and never wavered. He was so loyal. I remember him talking in church when I was 7. They say he practically had the Bible memorized as his vision was bad but he spoke over time quoting it. I watched the clock. It was 30 minutes over. Not many of his family joined but my grandfather did who raised 5 children who all were leaders and most all of our cousins to this day attend church. It was an experience to be a handful of Mormons in Charleston SC in the 60s 70s and 80s. A mission is being opened there this year!
