We’ve had very weird noises out here in Texas too. The way these people have described it is exactly what my impression was. We also have had loud BOOMs along with the screeching and humming. I thought it vaguely reminded me of some kind of underground construction, but somehow it seemed to be coming from the sky, even though the sky looked normal.

We had this exact same noise happening in Manchester UK, it could be heard for miles. It turned out to be a resonance in a brise soleil type of feature on top of the Hilton Beetham skyscraper (caused by wind). They eventually fixed it by adding additional structure to it. The noise actually sounded like it was coming through the ground.

We had this in my neighbourhood down town Toronto. I tracked it down personally-right out of my bed at 4 am. I've encountered this noise before as an industrial HVAC technician. We completed an upgrade on a schools boiler plant last year and shortly there after neighbors began to complain about a harmonic hum. It ended up being the exhaust off of the new high efficiency boilers we installed. If the exhaust venting is too short mufflers need to be installed. After the mufflers were installed the noise went away.

Ok. I can agree with that. I worked on school boilers myself for a while...they are massive, so i can see a high efficiency for THAT demand needing an INSANE amount of induced draft for THAT much exhaust...requiring a MONSTER fan. It makes sense that if its not vented properly, or enough, that it WOULD make noise. And, yeah, it can be deafening! NYC? Imagine the size of a boiler for a SKYSCRAPER. Just sayin.

This also happened in San Francisco a couple years ago . It occurred after adding a new feature on the Golden Gate bridge. Depending on the direction of the wind and wind speed, the noise would be created which was audible for miles in each direction. It would come and go much like this instance. In this instance, I would think it's possible that this could also be the result of a new architectural feature of sorts on a building or a bridge 🤔. The Golden Gate bridge issue was eventually mitigated after over a year of spooky/eerie sounds heard throughout all of the surrounding cities. The issue gained so much traction that an artist created a musical album with the sounds, which is on Spotify to this day.

I live about 1 km from a harbour with a number of sailing boats with high masts. Every time when there are storms you would easily hear the vibration sound the wind makes by way of these sailboats, even inside with shut windows. It doesn't need to be very stormy weather to generate the sound. I suspect this could either be from a harbour with many sailboats or from high-rise buildings having large poles or antennas on top of them. Being in a high position means of course it's windier. 🤔

So hard to pinpoint it almost seems to come from all directions at once, no change in volume or tone as you change the direction you face.

If I had to guess, it's probably something like a big cistern as part of the sewers and when it drains or fills the displaced air moves through some ventilation piping to make the noise. It's the same principle as air moving through an organ pipe to cause noise. If you've ever worked with big industrial tanks or on a ship with ballast tanks, you know the displaced air moving through pipes can make particular whistles or hums when the fluid is being moved about.

It’s most likely a single cable which is very long mooring a crane or some equipment to a building being built. The cable is tight and metal but it has just enough give to swirl in a continuous “jump rope” type style when the wind hits it. When it’s far more quiet at night and the cable equalizes it’s spinning it sustains a constant resonance. It’s wind on a cable when it’s quieter at night !

It always starts at exactly 1:30a.m every night and goes on for around 30 minutes to sometimes almost 2 hours and it's sooo annoying. I also feel like it's getting louder recently. I asked a neighboor and he heard it too but we both can't really compare the sound with anything. I guess what they said in the video with the glass is the most accurate comparison I can think of.

My husband and I went hiking one windy day in San Francisco’s Presidio neighborhood. We were surprised to hear a loud hum everywhere. I recall, in another state, there was a loud deep humming sound that only 2-3 people on the block would hear throughout the night, and sometimes in the day. No one, and none of the utility companies, nor police, nor firemen knew what it was. So the neighbors who heard it began to look at what they had in common. And what that was was a satellite antenna on their roofs, that was picking up signals from some kind of radar device that a common neighbor, who's house they surrounded, must have had. (A device such as a police radio radar.) But in the case of an entire neighborhood hearing it, it could have to do with either a new cable system, or the wind against metal in a new construction. And the mystery goes on! 🤔

Here’s a suggestion. Using a parabolic sound collector, point it in the direction of the strongest signal re the sound. Plot that direction on a plan of the whole city with a line for each reading. Continue detecting and plotting the direction from a multiple of points around the city. Gradually a radial direction should emerge, with some single or general point of origin. This will take a lot of plotting because of echos off hard surfaces around the city, but gradually a source will emerge.

My dog has been waking me up around 2am for the last couple of days and today i woke up at the same time he wakes up and heard the humming sound. starting followed for a couple sonic boom like sounds. Sounds like an oscillating low frequency that you can feel in the house but also your body. I went outside and i could hear it, but from the interior of the house, you can feel it amplified on the windows. It almost sounds like a plane braking the sound barrier but it doesn't go away. Then the air starts pulsating, and it intensifies. It's really eerie. I live in Central Florida.

@d Proof: In the Book of Revelation, seven trumpets are sounded, one at a time, to cue apocalyptic events seen by John of Patmos (Revelation 1:9) in his vision (Revelation 1:1). The seven trumpets are sounded by seven angels and the events that follow are described in detail from Revelation Chapters 8 to 11. According to Revelation 8:1-2 the angels sound these trumpets after the breaking of the seventh seal. These seals secured the apocalyptic document held in the right hand of Him who sits on the throne.[1] The trumpets are referred to in Koine Greek as σάλπιγξ (sálpinx, salpinx); this was a straight, narrow bronze tube with a mouthpiece of bone and a bell; they do not resemble modern trumpets. The final three trumpets are sometimes called the "woe trumpets".[2]

check one of the high risse buildings. the sound is more than likely coming from one or more of the balconies of one of the high rises. it's useally when wind hits and passes throught the metal frames of the balconies. depends on how the metaal balconies are designed it an make that sound.

Growing up i lived across a canal from a factory. They had fans running you could hear constantly. I cried when I was 4-5ish when I went out to the woods(towns away) with my mom and she told me to be quiet and listen for critters and I realized what quiet sounded like. I was in shock and hard gotten so used to the noise. I know there was other times I haven't heard it but had never been asked to listen for sounds in such a quiet place. I thought the whole world hummed.

Lord Jesus Christ is coming back everyone, please don’t worship celebrities and entertainment, focus on Him alone. I promise there’s more to life than money, partying, homosexuality and music. Hell is real, repent from sinning confess your sins and ask God to forgive you, I know He will if you’re sincere. Anyone who thinks the Name of Lord Jesus Christ is a joke, boldly mocks and scorns Him or takes pleasure in people who do is in for a big unpleasant surprise on judgement day IF they don’t repent and follow Lord Jesus Christ. Hell is very hot, people please repent! In the mighty name of Lord Jesus Christ, Amen 🙏💪✝️💜❤️✝️! Idolatry such as, Islam, Catholicism, Sangomaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Santa Clausism, Confucianism, New Age, Science, Evolution, halloweenism, Harry Potterism, Politics, Donald Trumpism, Easter Bunnyism and other religions/faiths that are outside Biblical Christianity lead to hell! Don’t believe them, believe the Almighty God the Father of Lord Jesus Christ, who begot Him. Our Creator, The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is mighty, He doesn’t need a woman to beget a son, He is God. I choose to put my faith in a God who can do anything and everything, a God who has unlimited and infinite power to beget! So, it’s time to confess that Lord Jesus Christ is the Lord and to believe that He died and rose from the grave after three days and you shall be saved if you only obey Him by praying, worshipping, praising, reading the Bible and living holy and righteously according to the Bible. You have to endure until the end, carry your cross daily and build your relationship with God by following Lord Jesus daily until the end. You must never renounce your faith in The Lord Jesus Christ, there’s hell awaiting those who reject/deny Lord Jesus Christ and those who continue living sinfully, even the Christians who don’t want to repent will face the same fate, so please repent beloved people, in Lord Jesus Christ’s mighty and precious Name, Amen. ✝️

We have a similar issue in our town…a pulsing wave of sound being emitted from turbines on the roof of a local manufacturing plant. They finger going around the crystal glass describes it quite nicely. They are “trying” to fix it but it has been nearly 2 years-often keeps me awake at night. Good luck getting to the bottom of the issue. Some neighbors have purchased white noise devices to help them sleep. The wind direction and air density also factor into the intensity of the sound.

I was just leaving a comment about how some of the houses in regular neighborhoods are being used as ventilation houses for the subway system and your wind turbine description sounds like it’s possible one of these as the culprit. I just saw the news segment this week and they were showing how the houses are in regular neighborhoods but they are used for ventilation and some have emergency exits! Normal houses all around, it could be the problem!

They are not trying to fix it as long as profit is involved. The worship of money precludes caring about Human Beings. Whomever profits from the situation is not exposed to it and does not care. That's just where things are anymore. We allow corporations to dictate policy and this is the result. Government should be by and for its Citizens, but we made this problem ourselves and until Profit is removed from Government we will live with this and it WILL get worse until we are nothing but cogs in the machine. YOU can and will be replaced.

Perhaps they could pinpoint the frequencies, measure how many decibels it is at that specific frequency, and then move around to see where it reads higher. If you had the equipment on multiple vehicles it should be easy to pinpoint the source rather quickly. I’m not sure how much other city noises would interfere, but as they are not a constant, it should be easy to separate those from the constant oscillating hum when looking at the readings.

This happens a lot in other cities and countries and it is usually mechanical in nature...machinery from a mill or factory miles and miles away etc. I remember watching on tv a house that resonated at 60 Hz and the hum was much louder inside than outside the house. It was a power transformer that was also miles away. Another was a large vacuum pump used to unload ships. Other culprits are diesel generators and steel factories.
