That helicopter has been sitting in the same place for at least 21 years, and the base itself is abandoned. They only recently put a high-definition cctv camera, that just happens to be pointing right at the helicopter. The fuel was added to give the explosion something to burn. That helicopter would never be able to fly again.

It is odd that there is such good footage of the helicopter in Moldova being hit by the drone you know an old helicopter sitting all forlorn in a distant part of an airfield with a camera which is in focus and directed straight at it... Also of course the rouge drone flying in perfectly in perfect light conditions...

I don't think I'll ever get used to the name Transnistria being mentioned in the global news. So much of my family's blood soaks the soil of Transnistria. In my family that name is said quietly and carefully, almost in such a way so as to not invoke some demon waiting in the background for someone to finally speak that name out loud and unleash hell.

Just a bit of a trip up there Ben. The mine laying drone isn’t an ‘Unmanned Aerial Vehicle’, just an unmanned remote controlled vehicle. It’s land based. UAVs are flying objects.

The idea that this is a false flat operation is probably not far from the truth but it was dumb and amateur even by Russian standards. Attack a helicopter that has been abandon for 20 plus years and yet has fuel in it then to just happen to have a high res security camara pointed at it and mounted on a reportedly abandon building, really!! Many drone strikes tend to have an observer drone nearby to watch. Both Ukraine and Russia do that as far as I know. But if only 1 thing was hit..... then it makes little sense for Ukraine or Moldova to be the culprit.
