Welcome to Wonderhussy Adventure #213
The Mojave Desert is full of secret hidden volunteer cabins -- mostly old mining cabins that have been fixed up and are maintained by volunteers, who come out on the weekends to make repairs and stock the pantries and such. These cabins are available to any desert traveler seeking shelter on a first-come, first served basis. There is no charge to stay in such a cabin, but the code is to be gentle, clean up after yourself, and leave it better than you found it.
On this adventure, I traveled around a corner of the Mojave and visited four different cabins in two days. Some were REALLY nice...and some are in need of TLC to get them up to speed. This is the third cabin I visited on the trip...and it was in pretty rough shape! But it had some very interesting stuff inside.....
