Richard the Lionheart did have strong links to the Templars, incidentally, working with them closely during the Third Crusade, supporting them in various ways and apparently even travelling back homeward disguised as a Templar. He also sold them the island of Cyprus, which he conquered on the way out to the Holy land. They should have kept it but they gave it up to the de Lusignan dynasty.

This was probably the best historical explanation of the Templars I've ever herd, especially with the realistic outlook on the whole messianic connection thing. As far as the Catholic church goes I would say that France had a heavy hand in this rather than just Rome. Spain basically was the main reason c for the terrible Inquisition not Rome. We can argue on the authority vs the actions but at the end of the day France and Spain were wrong. Thanks for this, it was great.

Thank you for this very instructive lecture on a much romanticized topic. I learned more about "les templiers" during these 80 minutes than during the last 60 years. The analogy between the Knights Templar and modern multinational corporations struck me as very valid since both are accountable to no-one besides their mentor, the pope for the Knights Templar and King Profit for the multinational corporations. One difference though, the modern Philippe IV le Bel who would rein in multinational corporations does not seem to be born yet.

They came from France and landed in the Americas on June 13th, 1777 at Georgetown South Carolina. 7473777... I'm not a mason and according to the Regis Poem, I shall not become a mason. However I do find the numbers and my life experiences to be somewhat interesting. Including writing Masonic numbers on my walls before knowing Masons even existed. Also writing the words "Crystal Nacht" before knowing that Hitler used this same term to enact a horrible time for others. Finally, after I was told about my Masonic ancestor, I was told by the person who shared this information, that she would, "kill" me if I ever spoke about it. I have had an attempt on my life since. It's simply not me to be a part of any group no matter what it's about. Plus if you read your own writings, ie: The Regius Poem, I'm not fit to be a mason because I have physical issues which degrade my human capabilities. Still not sure why I or anyone has to die for talking about or sharing our history. Although I do see that as Freemasonry was not native to the U.S. it has recoiled and become unfriendly to the U.S. In many ways parasitizing upon our people. The Templars are connected to the creation of first European nation: Portugal and have been a part of Portugal since their creation, 2 of the original 11 were Portuguese. 4 of them returned to Portugal to begin aiding the prince on creating the kingdom and freeing it from Leon and the moors. They went on to become the order of Christ as a political move by the Portuguese king to save the order, which succeeded. not only Portugal did into give up 1 of its knights, being the king the grandmaster, as Templars from all europe ran into Portugal to join their brothers. The entire expansion of Portugal was not financed by the Templars, it was possible thanks to the templars, from the first battle of Afonso Henriques against his mother to free Portucale from Castilla to the arrival in Asia, Brasil and all of coastal Africa.

Well done for mentioning this, Roslyn was not where the Templars lived in Scotland, it was 'Temple' to the South East. After that they built 'New Temple' in London City, which is now known as 'the bankers church' in the Incorporated City of London. How 9 elderly Knights were meant to protect the pilgrim routes remains a bit of a mystery as they did nothing of the sort for the first nine years. They burrowed 120ft down through solid rock below the temple Mount. What they found is still under intense speculation. From the ark of the covenant to replicas of the dead Sea scrolls, hand on heart we just don't know. It's a fascinating story and deserves to be told. In Europe they were granted property and land at such a rate they couldn't garrison them. This was long planned, and once the wheels started turning it ran like clockwork. They were reclaiming their ancient patrimony in the Holy Land.

The king who protect the templars was our portuguese King D. Dinis (who was actually cousin of the French King). He was the one who protected the templars and fool the Vatican at the time, when he simple came with the idea of change the name of the Knights Templar to The Order of Christ and with that, the Templars continue to exist for more than 2 centuries. By the way, Portugal is a Templar Nation, founded by the Templars and our first King was a templar knight and nephew of Bernard of Claivaux. One of the best preserved round churches constructed for the Templar knights can always be visited in Otmarsheim, near Colmar, in beautiful Alsace, close to Strasbourg and it's famous gothic cathedral. Which brings me to another major job of the Templars: creating the financial and political framework to construct our gothic cathedrals in France and elsewhere. Her book is based on the study of the last existing 9 major manuscripts kept in Rome (Bibliotheca Apostolica Vatican) Brügge (Stedelikje Openbaare Bibliotheca) Prag (Národní knihovna), Paris (Bibliothèque nationale de France), München (Bayerische Staatsbibliothek), Wien (Österreichische Nationalbibliothek), Baltimore (Walters Art Gallery), Barcelona (Archivo de la Corona de Aragón), Bruxelles (Bibliothèque Royale de Belgique) and London (British Library), using also others, less known once kept in Modena, Dijon, Angoulême... The title of her book is simply "LA REVOLUTION DES TEMPLIERS", a well earned title indeed. Reading this book which is only based on facts is again and again a mind-blowing experience!

It’s interesting to read beyond the traditional Matthew, Mark, Luke and John Gospels, their are extant copies of other early Gospels. The Apocrypha and pseudographia make an interesting read for an esoteric minded person, early chapters of Christianity followed differing Gospels. An early group of gnostics followed the teachings of Mary and Levi, with a totally different view of the message Jesus was preaching. This group was totally wiped out by the Pauline/Peterine church that is known as the Roman Catholic Church today. The Templars themselves followed the Johnanine Canon, and it’s worth noting that early extant copies of the Gospel of John differ from what you will find in a modern Bible. Hundreds of years of translation errors and adaptions of phrases to support the RC church and the various monarchies around the world were bound to happen. It would be interesting to be able to see the exact faith system the Templars followed and the religious texts that they held core to their beliefs. But the simple fact that they followed the Johanine Canon rather than the Pauline Canon was always going to cause a conflict with the Pope at some point. I personally doubt any more whole texts are likely to be found, but many National Libraries around the world are combing their archives to find fragments of text. A good example would be when new books were bound leaves from older books were used to support the spine of the new book. The original 9 Knights Templar went to the Jerusalem Temple Mount in 1119 expressly to dig. They found scrolls. I must say there are many aspects that are presented in this video that minimize the real impact of the Order of the Templars and that of Bernard de Clairvaux on the geopolitics of that time. At the end of the day they have put the basis of the Portuguese State and where present in the entire discovery of the World by the Portuguese. Lands were given to the "militiae christi" before the official formation in Jerusalem or the Council of Troyes. The templars held the entire Atlantic trade of herring and cod. Owned the salt mines in Spain which was as precious as gold mines. Put together the first international money transfer system, which definitely did not die with the end of the Order in France. The Templar founders could not have been poor knights as at least 2 of the forming people where counts, of Anjou and Champagne. And since writings of the bishop of Chartres point out that Hugh de Champagne wanted to join the militiae christi in 1014, it is obvious we should not take ad literam the words of Guillaume de Tyre, who wrote about 50-60 years after the things took place. Almost like me writing a story about what was discussed at a board meeting of Microsoft 50 years ago (based on what I have heard). And pleas remember that the Grail story exists in medieval literature at least from 1180 when Chretien de Troyes wrote Perceval. Anyways....I would like to take the moment and thank you for the presentation, as one sided as it may be. PS: Henry Lincoln wrote a very appealing book together with Leigh and Baigent and their research is sustained by references . I am not saying to believe everything, neither do the others, but do not disregard the book that easily. It is a good basis for further studies. A Sect of people were granted a new oath and religious freedom and Nancy Pelosi's father established Israel with Zi0nist World C0mmunist in 1947. There is reason that Baltimore has been involved in every war in America. The "Supernatural" or "Unorthodox" banned original teachings in 1963 and provided education the Jesuit Indoctrination program that is currently teaching Global Citizenship to children. The reformation is happening now (again). Think about how much history is hidden in the Vatican and Rockefeller Museums... we will never know the truth of existence.

Not to mention the vast amount of documents that were lost due to the burning of the Library of Alexandria. It was reputed to hold scrolls that were the last extant copies known to exist at that time. It’s also incredibly frustrating that items such as the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Nag Hammadi Library, were ignored and dismissed on their discovery and effectively left to degrade in non-archival storage. Modern science is at least is now allowing us to scan the text on the scrolls that are too degraded to even be unrolled.
