I've always heard "Summer Place" instrumental version. It's an iconic piece of music. Didn't know there was a version with singing. Learning new things every day.

Yep, second 1 I recognized her vocals as the violin melody.

A Summer Place was an instrumental hit by Percy Faith circa 1960. It was the theme for a movie released around that time. I knew this one would not be your style. But I like the Monday surprise plus the great variety from week to week.

Silas - in your opening greeting statement you say 'Happy Monday'. Just in case you're not aware, there is a 1980's UK band called 'Happy Mondays'. Maybe you'd like to check them out sometime?

I don't think I ever heard "Johnny Get Angry". But "A Summer Place" was famous. The Percy Faith instrumental version was the #1 song the week I was born. Many covers out there!

I really like both songs… I also only heard the instrumental for “Summer Place” it was interesting hearing it with words! Thank you Silas! 😀

Not heard this I take it is the original 😮 you should try k.d.lang’s & her band The Reclines version of Johnny Get Angry but you need to watch the video she is amazing ❤❤

I agree , Silas , prefer the second one. Despite being a child of the sixties , Joanie Sommers is new to me....do not know if she had any hits here in the UK.

Ha! The whole stack was found by my father in law and he handed them to me and I handed them to silas. They have no memory of why/how they have them. It seems unlikely that they bought them. I, for one, am hoping Silas gets back to some Black Sabbath or Faith no more or something like that.😊

I think you should do what I suggested before so you'll get some better songs. Pick any year and then do the top 10, 25, 50 , or 100 Billboard hits from that year.
