There was a story like this, out in the agua fria area. But the pick, was stuck in a saguarho, pointing at the spot, and, a mexican shepard, drivin stock, also said he saw it. I, also, have seen something like this. But, hadn't heard the story yet, and didn't know the significance, of it. I would believe, it is true though.
