Just because you cannot see that reason physically with your eyes doesn't mean it's not there. Even Aryabhatta strongly upholded the beliefs of not to do things during the eclipse and other major events, because these events are directly associated with God. So there is a certain code of conduct which is to be to followed during these events. Go read the scriptures. Don't be a barking dog like dhruv who raises eyebrows in all the traditions and customs without trying to know it's importance. And yes these traditions are not myths or superstitions, they're reality with thousands of proofs backing them
