The fort Ancient is not a "tribe." It is a culture. I don't know why some of these "documentaries" get so many things wrong.

See how they spew misinformation out of their pie holes. It's a speculation, no one knows only those who built it. Then they tey to associate it with a carving on a rock found 50 miles away. Clowns in my opinion

Hancock already proved in his book that the serpent mound is a representation of the constellation Draco and that the sun sets directly over the serpents head on the summer solstice. Nice job not giving him credit.

It also blows my mind that the connection with stars in the Draco constellation wasn't known to someone who did a ground penetrating radar and magnetometer mapping of the area.

@@Alarix246It all boils down to a fundamental lack of respect for ancient peoples. There were many cultures with advanced astrological knowledge at early ages who are not credited. Add in that history has a euro-centric perspective. (basically still racist without being overt about it) and you can see why things like this get swept under the rug. The Greeks get credited for everything. Ancient Greek's were in awe of the Egyptian's. Herodotus was the first historian (Greek). Like he was seriously the first person to start writing things down on paper. He borrowed heavily from Egyptian texts. It's like giving a DJ credit for creating a song when he's sampling a record from some bad in the 70's.

@@Davivd2 are u saying that without Herodotus we would have Egyptian history books? Which ones? In my opinion, Herodotus didn’t intend hiding the fact that he retold events he learnt from Egyptians. But without him, that missing link would smother a lot we know from Egyptians thanks to him.

@@Alarix246I don't mean to malign Herodotus. But the Euro-centric narrative that praises him while ignoring others. Right now there is a valley in Turkey that has over 60 sites that are not being excavated with no plans to dig at all, that are all potentially as old as Gobek Li Tepe. Tepe itself has only been partially excavated and there are no plans to fully explore the site. The potential to learn of a culture that already turned back the clocks of the first civilization by thousands of years is being completely ignored. Because what is buried underneath the dirt upends the narrative so drastically that nobody wants to fund excavation. In Egypt there is ample evidence that the Giza pyramids were never used to entomb a pharaoh. There are numerous pieces of granite with obvious drill marks cut into them, and nobody wants to investigate that. Again, it upends the narrative and would embarrass too many people so it just gets ignored. Herodotus just did what many people did before him. But ask anyone in western culture who the first historian is, and they will tell you Herodotus. I want for myself, and our society, to learn a true history. One that is unscathed by racial perspective, and one that isn't hiding the truth to preserve human sensitivity. History belongs to everyone. Not a few people who went to college and decided that they are the arbiters of our past and get to shape the paradigm in a way that keeps their professions safe and free from criticism.

I read in the local newspaper years ago that carbon dating was done on a piece of a burned stick they dug up in the mound in the 1994 & it showed it was built about 1,000 years ago, around 1040 AD......I live about 1 mile from Serpent Mound, as the crow flys.....

I also see it as a 'sperm' and definitely not a 'snake'. This would also make sense as humanity, for Millennia, have linked the Summer solstice to 'fertility'. The only question is, how did ancient humans know what a sperm cell looked like?

I almost think that it's impossible to think that the cultures before that official date (300 BC), between the 12000-9000 years BP didn't notice the special properties of that place. Radiocarbon dating is merely reflecting the fact that such powerful place was in use continually ever since the Younger Dryas catastrophe (even before, but the evidence thereof is of course blown away). The mainstream archaeology is satisfied with expected dating, and they won't allow anyone digging through the site again and taking samples. Case closed, anyone can make their own conclusions and believe what they want.

It sits in a crater that is millions of years old. Something about 5 miles wide struck there. Magnetic and weather anomalies are common in that area of the crater.

That's so scary to think humans were able to kill others in a sacrifice for Gods! But we aren't much better now! In fact we are worse as we spend a huge chunk of our budget on weapons and related research, a lot more than we spend on health!!
