Best review I’ve seen on this, by far. Thanks for all the details! Would definitely love to see another pack dump video with it and see how it holds all your stuff. Do you also have the 20L you could do a review on?
@compound_bros2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely and thank you!! We plan on doing a pack dump after this season so we have a season under our belt fully using the bag and changing things around in it! We do not have the 20L unfortunately!

Curious to know how this compares to the first lite transfer...

I have a transfer pack. I love it. However was looking for something smaller for earlier season that rides like the transfer. Transfer pack fits great.

Love it, I switched to a smaller Fanny pack for bow seasons two years ago but this has me thinking again! Mystery Ranch is the best of the best

I’ve been thinking about trying out a small fanny pack for our hunts in stands that are already set up! Just makes it tough when your hauling in camera gear with sticks and a platform. Which pack are you rocking?

Wow, I am really waiting for the 2022 hiking models, I am between the Coulee or the Bridger in the 40-45L capacity...then you dropped that video. That is the most beautiful backpack I have ever seen. Might be a bit on the small side literwise, but that plush thing makes me want to buy it, just to cuddle with it. Seriously, despite not been 100% tailored to my hiking needs, I really will consider that!
@compound_bros2 жыл бұрын
Haha it really is soft! Could even use it as a nice pillow if you take a break from hiking 🤣 this pack does have a much sturdier frame than the hiking packs which is why it weighs more, and doesn’t have a designated place for a hydration bladder if that’s how you liked to carry your water but you could modify it to make it work! Other than that it could definitely work!!

I've got the older version in the coyote color. Pretty awesome pack for saddle hunting kit. Doesn't seem to be a huge difference between old and new other than fabric and color schemes. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think I'll stick with what I've got.
@compound_bros2 жыл бұрын
I would agree with you! Only a couple subtle differences, the softer material is definitely the biggest benefit. The sizes are different as well but if the old ones working for you I wouldn’t upgrade either!!

Thanks you for making this review! Is the size of the bag good for carrying on to airplane? The specs says the size is 23.25"x13"x12.25", slightly larger than a normal carry-on bag size.
@compound_bros2 жыл бұрын
Hey man appreciate the comment! It’s about the same size as my rolling sized carry on when I put them side by side so it wouldn’t be able to fit underneath the seat, you’d have to put it in the over head bin. Are you wanting to use it as your hunting bag when you get to your destination? Or actually use it as a normal carry on?
@Sean-uo7gp2 жыл бұрын
I would use it as a normal carry on for traveling purpose. The layout of this bag is perfect for my requirements. Thank you again for introducing all the details in this review.
@compound_bros2 жыл бұрын
@@Sean-uo7gp You could definitely make it work! They might make you shove it inside the bin to prove it fits the size requirement but it’s flexible enough haha and no problem!

Debating on the wood vs the camo pattern, hunting whitetails in a stand. Do you think the solid wood color stands out vs the camo?
@compound_bros6 ай бұрын
We have both and the wood certainly looks better than the camo (in our opinion). If I was to choose over again, it would be the wood color.

Is 20L just shorter version of 38L meaning the top lid opening has same size? My insulated jacket has 2 layers, puffy and bulky. In my current backpack, I can’t carry it 1-piece or I need to strap the wind stopper layer to the outside strap that I mocked up. I understand I can carry a lot with 38 also from 20 to 38 you are almost doubling the volume and probably weight too. I like the rigidity of this backpack and now kind of stuck in between fanatic pack vs treehouse 20. If I can’t fit in 20 then it make sense to go to Fanatic for cost effectiveness but at the same time I like treehouse design too
@compound_bros Жыл бұрын
The 20L is a much smaller bag! The 20L bag doesn’t have the side zips like the 38L which allows the opening to be much bigger to get access to items inside as well as put items inside. I’m not sure which insulated jacket you have but I would be surprised if it fit in the 20L, I usually strap my outer layer to the bottom of my 38L. Depending on how you hunt I think would change which pack would be best. If you hunt private and have gear hooks screwed into trees all over the fanatic would be great but if you hunt public or saddle hunt multiple different spots the treehouses integrated tree strap is literally a game changer. The other thing I would consider is how you like to set up when in the tree. The fanatic pack you’ll have to dig for items while the treehouse lid doubles as the built in shelf and makes being organized super easy and you can find things quickly and quietly
@Batuhan1988 Жыл бұрын
@@compound_bros I am looking for something versatile. For deer hunt I have access to privet land so Fanatic would be a good one but when I go for moose hunt I want to be able to carry most of my gear with me even tho we mostly drive around in the log roads and I can store everything in the truck, I want to be able to have everything organized in the backpack. I want to be able to put my top layers into the bag so depending on the situation I can layer up as needed. In this case 20L is not the best option. It is hard to understand the size from the videos. Probably 20L is something similar to what I have but has more pockets to organize. I have climbing stand and when I am climbing with it. I hang it to the stand and when I am at the top it stays in front of me. Both Fanatic and treehouse 38 would be good and probably 38 a bit better because of the design. Fanatic is lighter but the fleece around it concerns me in terms of collecting hooks from the ground. I think they have non-fleece bottom now but when you put on ground it won’t stay up right. Probably it will tip over and get those hooks on the ground. I loved the lid on treehouse, it will work much better the way that I use the backpack on the treestand. I will have to evaluate the price difference vs the advantages on the treehouse.
@compound_bros Жыл бұрын
@@Batuhan1988 we have had the fanatic pack and it is significantly smaller than the treehouse 38. We got rid of those fairly quickly as it wasn't really even enough to carry a layer of clothes and our camera gear. It would be a great pack if you want to travel light and silently. The other downside to the fanatic is that it does not have any rigidity to it which can be cumbersome pending your situation. The fanatic pack, in my opinion, is not your solution. A close comparison from the Sitka line would be the tool bucket. I hope this helps!
@Batuhan1988 Жыл бұрын
@@compound_bros thanks for the comparison. It’s hard to make the decision without seeing these packs and using it. That’s where your experience comes in. It makes sense to go for treehouse 38L. I already have a smaller backpack I can use that one if I need to but I have a feeling that once I start using treehouse I will be taking it with me even in early and mid season. Thank you for helping me to make the call.

@@Batuhan1988 my pleasure! We have no dog in the fight (we are not sponsored) so it is truly our experiences that help make these decisions. The 38L is the best all around pack that I have used and it isn't close. Good luck this season!

Really debating between the 20 & 38. Do you think the 38 is too large for early season bow hunting if one has a stand pre-hung?
@compound_bros2 жыл бұрын
I think it depends on how much stuff you like bringing into the field with you! Personally even if I had a stand hung I would still go with the 38 because of the ability to unzip the front and the waist belt storage! The 38 is still a relatively small pack!

The 20 is still awesome! Just a little bit too small for our needs but if I didn’t need to bring much into the stand it’s a great size. I do think they would have a perfect pack if they put the straps on the bottom and also allowed the front part to zip down on the 20L though!
