Jolly Jim the Mystery Tree This is a tree thats trunk has a man's face. Legend has it that it's "Jolly Jim," a stagecoach driver who was part of Atascadero's history. There are signs pointing toward the tree, which is next to a quirky little barbecue restaurant called "Last Stage West." It's a little off the beaten path, but if you're in the Central Coast area of California and are up for a little adventure, go see it. In addition to the mysterious tree, they had yummy ribs, live music at night, and an owner who will be more than happy to tell you all about the history of the building, Atascadero, and Jolly Jim.
