You were still in high school at 22? In New Zealand you can’t get held back a year, you would just graduate without qualifications. You could probably stay for one more year if you wanted to but then you would probably need to go to a school for adults or online school to finish your qualifications. But it shouldn’t take you more than an extra year because it’s a credit based system so you just have to get how many credits you didn’t get the year before and then you can get qualifications.
