My father was a professional photographer and cinematographer his whole life. He would have been absolutely fascinated by these. Wonderful.

The photo of the old gentleman and woman is a soldier who fought at Waterloo. His medal is the Waterloo medal awarded to soldiers who fought in that battle. What sights he must have seen don't bear thinking about.

My paternal grandmother saw a Wild West Show in London I think, when she was a girl and remembered Buffalo Bill especially. She would have been as fascinated as I am by these famous and infamous people being so expertly revitalised. The music chosen adds an extra poignancy, there's an underlying sadness in it. Your work makes me a little sad; because they look so hopeful in the photos, but the empire is no more, what they stood for is trampled on and dismissed ... it would have saddened them deeply .... I'm glad they're not 'woke' in every sense! Another triumph. Thank you.

Incredible! First of yours I've seen. Yours make all other colorized photos look like color crayons. When I saw the first blink, I thought I had imagined it! Went through a second time & saw the head movements. Almost frightening. I appreciate that you give enough time to really study & appreciate...up & down & back, not just flipping through them. How does the colorist know the eye/hair/skin tones & colors? Altogether remarkable!

It's strange, but when they're in their original B&W setting, it's easy to feel disconnected to them. When they're redone in this way, you feel the connection to them somehow. Their clothing is so beautiful, the women had virtually no make up on yet they are so beautiful. And such a different world they are from. They're also very sad since at the time these were taken, these people were looking forward to their futures, their eyes with hopes of life and happiness.

These are absolutely beautiful. In some of them, he has the hair and hats move with the head, when the head turns - which is excellent. I have noticed, however, that when most people colorize these old photos, they do not have the chest rise and fall, when they 'wake up' the face. Very few people can sit still for very long, without breathing!

Great job, i'm very happy to see your videos, delighting for soul ! I'm very curious about to know what is the algorithm used for the face animation? If i have two little criticize about the animation is that the eye blinking can something seem unnatural (maybe the frequency, maybe the speed), and sometime because the face extrapolation is (by essence) limited to face, there's little strange effects (ex: 3:04 the neck is ok, but the hat do not move correctly). In all case, very good job and wondeful KZbin channel.

the eyes blinking on the couple was novel. however at start of Victor Hugo i hoped 'please don't let his eyes move'. once they did it was so eery. all i, even as a highly creative being, could think is "no that's not right". Gee I must have a more feral and 'primitive' aspect than i realized. This video is SCARY. Yet fascinating so i'll watch to its end, before secluding back to my dimension where familiar surrealism is enough and matters explored in The Twilight Zone , One Step Beyond and shows about fractals boggle my neuro-transmitters enough. Almost forget - this is astounding with such meticulous detail and subtle nuances. Thanks for the exposure to possibilities which 'are' AND 'will be'.
