Weirdly this reminds me of those old "1 mistake and you're dead" NES First Person Adventure Horror games. One was about a haunted house (forgot the name) and the other was a medieval style one called Shadowgate, IIRC they had this kinda of Trancey Techno'ey sound to the music.
