I love this game. I remember having such fun with it as a kid, and it's still pretty cool even nowadays. Funny thing is, quite a lot of stuff must have flown over my head as a kid. Back then, I had figured this was just an awesome adventure across Japan, playing as a cool party of fun ninja characters fighting to save the world. but only once I grew up was I able to look back on it and realize that this game is _made of insanity._ And with that realization, I loved this game once again. Perhaps more than before. ^_^ It's sad that the Ganbare Goemon series isn't getting much love nowadays. Even more sad that games of this style are actually quite rare in the series as it is, if my cursory research is correct. I suppose Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon, (Originally Go For It, Goemon: Dance of the Neo Peach Mountain Shogunate) is just one of those magical, once-in-a-lifetime, lightning in a bottle sort of games. Though if they made another game with this sort of 3D Mario/Zelda hybrid gameplay, I would be on that in a heartbeat. ...Though Goemon *did* get a Mii costume in Smash Ultimate. I'll have to use that.

@nintendo1889x6 жыл бұрын
Japanese isn't easy to perfectly translate
@freespace2dotcom6 жыл бұрын
English doesn't have a perfect analogy to bishonen. "Pretty boy" and "gorgeous" can be interpreted incorrectly. I think they captured the spirit of the song decently even if some parts are inaccurate. Also, don't forget when this was localized. A LOT of Japanese stuff was completely butchered in the 90's. This came out reasonably intact.The fact it was localized at all is a small miracle. Compare the SNES Goemon games translations to see a more edited script. (Kid Ying...?)
@williammayberry57935 жыл бұрын
To be fair it say "gorgeous" in english quite clearly and the other english words like break down, and break up in the second part not shown here, are taken as what they are. Making it just plain inconsistent when they change "gorgeous" to "the best"
