Box protectors are a must for jewel case games (PS1, Saturn, Dreamcast, etc.) IMO, especially if you are storing the games on a shelf, or in any manner where their cases are going to rub up against other games. You have to be meticulous with storage and handling of the cases to avoid any faint scratches. Those scratches will add up, eventually giving the clear plastic a kind of foggy look.

Buying retro seems like a huge gamble, the price of what he paid for this update is the same I paid for my PS5, an additional controller and pretty much every single console exclusive, such as demons souls, Horizon, deathloop, ghostwire Tokyo and returnal among others. I do think that the retro market is a bit broken but yet again I have never owned any of those retro consoles, I grew up with a PS2 and a PSP and the PS2 was backwards compatible with the PS1 so I played a bunch of that too. But never have I feel the need go check something that came out earlier that the PS1, the N64 intrigues me and the last couple Sega consoles do too by ti have never gone beyond emulation. Any ways if you enjoy having your wall covered with games rare and expensive this was a great Video!

I knew Pokémon would be in this video as soon as I saw the thumbnail haha. Those games are ridiculously overpriced thanks to Nintendo’s BS production lines making copies for only about 9-10 months after release, it’s a well-known business strategy called artificial scarcity. Look up the production cycles for Nintendo games versus most other games, they are a third of what most games print for because it’s cheaper for them in the long run and guarantees 100% profit.
@maverator2 жыл бұрын
How exactly does Nintendo profit from artificial shortage? If they don't have a product to sell, they can't make money off it.
@ThomastheDankEngine89002 жыл бұрын
@@maverator by later forcing rentals of that product. Nintendo Switch Online ring a bell lol?
@BasedRedemption2 жыл бұрын
@@maverator It’s all about keeping the price of their games at full retail price. They’d rather make 100% profit than keep their games printing and bring the price of it down. They don’t care at all how it hurts the consumer. It’s simple supply vs demand, but it’s being controlled artificially by them. It makes sense and it explains exactly why every Nintendo game stays full prices years after release and is a bitch to find even a year after it releases. Most companies like Sony or Microsoft over print their copies and they end up for like $5 at GameStop. Nintendo games don’t stay at full price because they’re selling like crazy years down the line, there just aren’t enough copies to go around when a game has only been in production lines for less than a year and it’s a highly-coveted franchise like Pokémon or Zelda. That’s changing a lot more now with them entering the digital landscape, but physical copies are going to be a bitch to find later down the line while PS5/Xbox games will be easy to find. What’s the difference? They don’t partake in artificial shortage. Just look at every console/handheld generation, Nintendo games are the most expensive for a reason and popularity can’t be the only contributing factor.
@nhlvan2 жыл бұрын
Artificial shortage of Pokémon games? In what way? If there was a shortage, how does each pair of games sell 10-30 million copies? It's not scarcity, it's just the demand.

I live in a country where the Pokémon games get released in a different language. These days I want to play my games in English though, so I wish I could get original copies of all Pokémon games that can be played in English. Thankfully since gen 6 the games are multi-language and for gen 1-2 I was able to get the English versions on the 3DS eShop but for gen 3-5 it's a nightmare. Not only do I have to import the games from another country, which makes the shipping very expensive (even the UK charges import taxes to the EU now). The worst thing is that Ebay is full of non-legit copies and it's very hard for me to be 100% sure that a copy that is offered online is legit. And I don't really want to spend 100+ bucks on something that could potentially be fake.
