I used to work in the Training Center and was one of Garrett Goble’s Instructors’ when he first came to Transit as a Conductor in April, 2014. He was a good student. He moved up to Train Operator in 2017. Now retired, I learned what happened on the morning of March 27, 2020 in the news and I recognized his name as one of my former students. My prayers and deepest condolences to his family continue. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Meanwhile cars 6366-6370 might be wrapped a memorial livery dedicated to Garret Goble, kinda like MCI D4500 bus 2185 was in dedication to those who perished on 9/11 after it was badly damaged from the collapse of the Twin Towers.

I DON'T KNOW IF PASSENGERS CAN WALK BETWEEN CARS ON THIS EQUIPMENT, BUT YOU CANNOT GO BETWEEN R44CARS AND NEWER CARS. WHAT IF THIS FIRE WOULD HAVE BROKEN OUT ON THE "A" OR "D" TRAIN 59TH STREET TO 125TJ STREET? PASSENGERS WOULD BE TRAPPED. I SAW THAT BRAKING IN ON "LL" LINE 14ST CROSSTOWN IN 1968. I WAS TOLD THE CARS WERE 65' LONG AND DOORS BETWEEN CARS HAD TO BE LOCKED BECAUSE GAP BETWEEN CARS WAS TOO WIDE ON CURVES. I THOUGHT, WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS A FIRE IN A CAR BETWEEN STATIONS? THE PASSENGERS WOULD BE TRAPPED. I WAS SURE TRANSIT WOULD NEVER BUY 65 FOOT CARS AGAIN, AND THEY DIDN'T. TA BOUGHT 75 FOOT CARS & DOORS HAD TO BE LOCKED. Harlem is a busy area, and most likely the second car would be completely doomed, and even a man as noble as Mr. Goble(wow, that rhymed!) would not be able to evacuate all the other cars simply because there are too many people.
