I feel the major reason why Alakazam hasn't been the base games lately is because of it's line's evolution process. Kadabra evolves from Abra at 16 and into Alakazam by trade and with how easy it is to trade nowadays having access to a non bug type fully evolved Pokemon under level 20 will kinda make the game even more easier. Honestly probably the same reasons we haven't seen the Nidos in a base roster in a long time.

This Ranking is quite interesting. Obstagoon would be on my personal wish list as well. It's my favourite Gen. 8 Pokémon, even to the point that I hunted for a shiny Galarian Zigzagoon and got it after 992 Encounters. ^^ I also hope that they include the Whismur line. Whismur itself is just cute, Loudred is awesome because of PMD2 and Exploud would be even better in Gen. 9 than it was before, thanks to terastalization. Imagine a choice specs / throat spray Tera Type normal (STAB = 200% instead of 150%) Boomburst... Not even Ghost - type Pokémon would be safe because of scrappy... Number 3 on my list would be Vanilluxe. I really like it (it's one of my favourite ice - type Pokémon) and it also got better because of the new mechanics in Gen. 9 Snnow doubles its physical defense, making it quite good on the defensive side (Weak Armor might be an option to take some hits and raise its speed). and terastalization could be used to either change its weaknesses or increase the power of Blizzard. Vanilluxe only problem is it's movvepool. The number of coverage moves is quite small to say the least.

tbh... i have a feeling some Pokemon don't make it into a game because they can steal the thunder of a new Pokemon. Like... i can see why Budew hasn't been in the game... since design wise... apart from the color, Smoliv and Budew look kinda similair, especially from a distance, with the way the games are set-up. Like, i personally don't mind if Pokemon get skipped a generation. Take the Snorunt line for example: It has been in every game since introduction and despite Glalie being my favorite mon, its getting tiring seeing it every game (Except for Lets Go, but thats a remake a no other non-gen 1 mon was in that game anyways). However, i do feel like us having a limited amount of ice type Pokemon also contributes to the factor that its in every game, else the Ice type options are so limited.

I feel like one of the biggest flaws in this list is that you mentioned some Pokémon having specific moves yet starting with Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl movesets have been dictated between sets of games. So for all we know if Machamp does make it into the DLC it may or may not have dynamic punch. Same thing goes for Diggersby still having U-Turn or Manaphy having Tail Glow. Who's to say they'll keep those moves when they transfer up? If they got rid of Volt Tackle on Pikachu's Cap forms then who's to say this won't be happening?

Having Ultra Beasts again would surely break the meta, but I'm a casual so I don't care. I need my Buzzwole back! Easily my favorite UB, I would just love to use him to slaughter the entire DLC storyline in no time flat. Plus, with no UBs, I didn't want to just look at my Beast Ball, so I shiny hunted Houndour to catch it in, JUST BECAUSE IT MATCHED. Also, because Houndoom is my favorite Dark type Pokemon, but that's not as relevant.

It's not just about competitive. It's also about playthroughs as well. Do you want to keep on using the same teams or do you want to vary yourself? In terms of Starters, Legendaries and everything in between? It's also about saving resources on stuff that's not as needed. It's about a lot of things, really. Would having all the Pokémon be great? Absolutely. But is it something we need right now? Not exactly. I remember playing NatDex OU and the only thing I felt was sheer chaos, for example with the gimmicks and the strongest Pokémon going on a rampage.

Stop the version exclusives, stop adding mons thru dlc that could have been in the original game. I don't use the same pokemon but if you think hard about it even using the same mons in every game would make the playthrough experience different because of the typing/gym leaders/elite4 differences.

The thing is, Shaymin wasn't included in the datamined list of returning mons but was confirmed later on. In fact, there weren't any legendary or mythical Pokemon on the list, but we can assume the legendary beasts and swords of justice at least will be brought back in some capacity on account of their paradoxes.

Raid pokemon are a guaranteed catch. Use the special pokeballs on raids, if you like them that much. I got a few beast balls in suprise trades. And ive been using them in all the 7 star raids. Besides the first 3. And trying to use them on any pokemon that has a hisuan form so i can breed them with beast balls.
