Putty fills imperfections: Wall putty is designed to fill in minor cracks, holes, and unevenness on the wall surface. Applying it after primer ensures you're filling a properly prepared surface. So, the ideal order for a flawless paint job is: 1- Apply primer 2- Let the primer dry completely 3- Apply wall putty 4- Sand the putty smooth after drying (if needed) 5- Apply paint

How can u apply paint directly on putty it will lead to consume more paint so after putty, give one more coat of a primer then paint.
