LTD5-LX is the current model and can run 150' of hoses effectively, if you have the pre-LX version LTD-5, then 50' is ideal.

Can I run hot water through the ltd5 or ltd12?

Yes you can, up to 140ºF water can be put into the solution tank without causing damage to the pump. External heaters are available that will heat water up to 210ºF after the pump too.

What do u mean by prime your pump? Why does the nob have to be in the prime position and not the run position?

"Priming" is a term to describe the process of preparing a pump for use by purging any air bubbles from the chamber. Air compresses more than water and thus will affect the pump's ability to deliver the proper PSI. The prime valve just recirculates your water so you can run the pump for long enough to achieve a good prime without having to manually hold a trigger down on your tool, which would also deplete the water in your tank before you get to clean with it.
