Insane that Marcos is literally pummeling the ball and Karue is still able to counterpunch so many of those so nice and deep. Shows how razor thin the margins are up top in the ATP.

He is looking a lot more confident to me, hitting more assertively even when getting in tighter spots. Best of luck to him in 2023. Hoping JJ and Ben can continue their upward trajectory.

Karue - great stuff as always! I’d love it if you could do some content on receiving coaching as a player. Listening to you give feedback to Marcos, who obviously has played a lot of tennis and has opinions about what to do on court - I thought it would be interesting to hear about how a player can be “coachable” - can stay open to suggestions and coaching while still feeling like you’re playing “your game”.

Another thing that comes to mind is the difference on wich Marcos was able to attack Gustavo's (?) ball. He looks like a really good junior, but his balls didn't hurt Marcos. However, when Karue was playing, despite getting his ass handed to him (as it should), Marcos had to work way harder, not being able to dominate as easily. Great content, as usual! Some people that comment here really should go watch some pro tennis live, to understand the speed difference. But well.... "4.5 at best, at least in my area".

Karue this is great!! Could you make a note or talk briefly about type tennis balls in a video? I find that so important… I see the wilson us open cans? Could you talk about why these balls are great and why players should avoid playing with penn for example? Lol
@elchanclascocina2 жыл бұрын
Which ones do you like the most? To me, Wilson US Opens are consistent for a while but then they just lose all their fluffyness and are like bullets. Penn depends on the type. I feel like here in Panama in the Wholesaler, Costco type, they send us the balls that are in the outter limits of quality control. Very uneven between them, many become a rock quite fast, but last longer. I guess is the "rock" feeling why you may want to stay away from them, but is what I use the most and could be worse. The blue Pro Penn, much softer, I like those. Dunlop are def my favorite in consistency, feel, durability.
@miguelbendito35652 жыл бұрын
@@elchanclascocina if balls are accessible to you, then I would always play with wilson US open. And open 2 new cans every time because you are right about those balls losing hair
@chubun66312 жыл бұрын
I think we should play and get familiar with any type of balls that are used in tournaments. I know folks that start b*tching when I open a can of penn or dunlop. What happens when they show up at a tournament sponsored by these two? Shut up and play or pack up and go home.

Great hitting by Marcos, unsurprisingly. He's just murdering the ball. Is it just me or he seems to be playing a different racquet than the 2021 Vcore 95? The head shape looks a bit different, it has an all red bump guard, and Marcos seems to be looking at it all the time between plays, as if he's still trying to adjust. Hey @My Tennis HQ ... Why is it that when I am playing against a ball machine, I can hit absolute fucking SLAMMERS. No joke, you'd think some of my shots are on your level. But when I go out into a match, I hit with 25% of that power. My wrist lag tightens up to almost nothing. I become so much less happy with my shots. Is it that I'm trying too hard to win, and need to loosen up and slam some? Or is it the reverse, that when I'm hitting the ball machine I need to stop slamming inconsistent shots and try more incremental improvements on my power? I guess maybe what I'm wondering is - how should I be using the ball machine? Slam balls as hard as I can even if my consistency goes down? Or should I play just slightly harder than I would in a match?
@K4R3N2 жыл бұрын
Make your ball machine practice little more difficult. Use cones, shuffle around the corne between ball feeds. It's about finding balance and preparing for the shot and if you just stand there and hit the same ball from the ball machine you don't get to train the footwork and bodywork anything close to match conditions
@KaruesellHQ2 жыл бұрын
Because I truly believe hitting with the ball machine is the worst thing anyone can do. People spend hours hitting the same ball over an over, barely moving their feet but once a match starts and the rhythm is different and chaotic (slow balls, fast, low shots, high shots, short, deep) you are not prepared for the chaos. Play more matches instead of slamming balls. It is like hitting the ball well at the driving range vs actually playing a course
@transklutz2 жыл бұрын
@@KaruesellHQ the ball coming out of my ball machine is unpredictable, so I guess it's pretty good training? I _wish_ I could get the same ball over and over so I could groove a certain stroke. Also, it's rare to be able to coordinate with someone to hit, which is why the ball machine.

Marcos has to up intensity on inside out. He's got the pace to win against the top 10 but not the angles. His inside out ball needs to land shorter in the court. Tight spin out wide is the most important shot in mens tennis after the serve.
