Saying that you can't lose weight on a 1200 calorie deficit because it's to low makes absolutely no sense

Pretty sure you still can lose weight but it will be slower because you will burn less calories throughout the day and your metabolism will slow down.

It’s not healthy to eat below your bmr consistently and also crash diets are not sustainable.some people can eat 1200 if they shorter women. But they should stick to 500 calorie deficit and loose weight without gigantic changes in their calorie intake. There’s different advice for people who are very significantly overweight but that’s the rule of thumb.

Ashley Smith: I struggled to lose weight on a 2000 calorie diet Im a 180lb male with almost 25% body fat. I was training 6 days per week and walking over 10k steps per day and eating 2000 calories dailly and i was still struggling to lose weight Why ? Cos I was eating too little and moving to much. It creates stress and cortisol in the body and makes your motabolism slow down 1800 calories is the lowest any male should go. I myself cannot even handle 1800 though. I can only last one day on those calories. I feel terrible , got zero energy, start getting a headache etc... If you go to 1200 motabolism will slow down and u won't lose weight. You'll feel dreadful. You'll be starving and won't be able to stick to it. You'll be malnourished and deficient cos u won't have enough calories to get in all of the food that you need. You'll get sick. You'll even put yourself at risk of serious harm

I've been eating 1200 calories a day for a few months now. (I ate 1500 calories for 3 mo before this) I've lost almost 60 lbs. I will be happy when I am eating maitenence calories. 1200 isn't a lot. But ... 60 lbs is.

@@Dhruv45124 I turned more than I consumed simply by tracking all calories and making sure the calories I burnt exceeded the calories I had eaten by being in a deficit of 1000 calories. Sometimes fasting for 24 hours a week

I may be either a wimp or way too active to go below 2300 . Any less than that my lifts suck and my running suffers . When im well fed i can run forever it seems . 2000 calories i got maybe a mile.

I see what you are saying. And yes the math is correct. But a 1200 calorie DEFICIT would be super overwhelming to me. It’s a huge shock to the body, and it’s not necessary to drop someone calories that much. I help my clients lose weight while eating the most amount of calories they can. My method is why stress out about eating 1200 calories LESS when you can still lose weight while eating 300-400 calories LESS? More sustainable and realistic too 👌🏽

@@katb1047It’s a shock to the body if you’re taking out all the bad food yes. I do 1000-1200 a day, i stopped eating anything that doesn’t benefit my body & my sugar intake is low if i have a craving i eat grapes since they are sweet plus fill me up. As long as you are eating healthy that shock will go away & you will barely crave the bad stuff after 2 weeks. It’s mostly mental. Also water with pink himalayan salt will help with cravings & headaches. I had to teach myself that i’ll be more full if i eat raw broccoli with ranch rather than anything else

@@sl33pyn4y3I agree. It is a shock if you drastically change your diet because you are making healthy changes to your diet. You do go through a withdrawal period. But after two weeks, that goes away! I don't really have that much cravings anymore. I do a once a month cheat meal. It works because I am down 40 pounds! If you get carbs, you get them through vegetables and fruits. But for me, I can't really have fruits unless I incorporate them into my once a month cheat period. I eat mostly Meats of all kinds, fish, tuna, eggs, nuts and green vegetables. Also if you cook with oils cook with extra virgin oils in a dark green container and stay away from vegetable oils and canola oils which are THE WORST OILS YOU CAN COOK With or one of the worst oils! I read ingredient labels and nutrient labels and if they do not match, I don't buy it! I also do not eat bread or any type of grains.

I dont eat...I eat one day on one day off got an underactive thyroid and lost my amazing six pack. Now im too embarrassed to look at myself in the shower. I wear a 16 to hide the fat rolls . I have 22. 5 waist but still need bigger to hid the bumps. Everything fits horribly. I gain a kilo a week sometimes 2 despite training 6 hours a day even up to 8. (I am infertile due to the excessive walking ) 6 hours walk was ok , over that and functions went nope and eat 1000 calories because of that I now do fasts 24 hours every 2 days. I shoot for 200 tdee as my thyroid function is nil. My meds were reduced and I was very small framed. Id also eaten a 500 càl diet for 2 years most people would have died. I retain water if I drink above a certain amount. My bones are small so wondering if thats the reason. Im the size of a 5-7 year old as bone stopped growing in childhood doctors dx this on x ray. Double edged sword small measurements but high body fat looks terrible and hangs off bones and 7 and a half stone isntoo heavy do best at 6 10. Dr happy with that. Even so I should have balanced out at this stage. Weight gain is ridiculous.

Yeah I sometimes eat 2000 the burn 2000 making net zero. Equal to if I was in a 270 deficit per day 7x in a week. Just seems way easier. When they say your deficit allowance is smaller as you get leaner and you can only loose x amount because you’re sub 10%, load of cronk

There's simply no way you're gonna be able to get enough protein carbs fat and fibre on a 1200 calorie diet though. No chance Your first priority is protein . Once you've got enough protein in theres not gonna be many calories left for carbs and fats

In our southeast asian country food pyramid, we need For ages 20 - 39 Fruits: 2 -3 servings Vegetables: 3 servings (means 3 cups, raw or 1.5 cup of cooked) As for age 40 onwards Vegetables: 4 cups Fruits: 2 cups

The best advice I could give anyone trying to lose weight is to do the exact opposite of what this guy is telling you. at first just focus on the calories into calories out. If you want to eat the unhealthy food you used to just make sure you’re in the deficit you absolutely unequally 100% will lose weight as long as you’re using more calories than you’re taking in.

Fiber kind of dont work for me😕 idk i never feel full. I get more full when i high volume foods like big salads with bread on the side, salads dont have fiber but keep me fuller because my stomach is filled more

You lose fat in a 200 calorie deficit, problem is that your tracking is not accurate enough to account for that deficit and you are probably not hitting that. You can lose body fat in a 5 calorie deficit too. Its all about calories in and calories out. 1 lbs of fat is equal to 3500 calories so it doesn’t matter if you do it in 1 year or 1 week if eat to where you eventually are in a 3500 calorie deficit you have lost 1 lbs.

i usually burn 600-700+ calories in an hour with resistance cycling or stair master. if i do 2 hours it’s 1,200 - 1,400, i’m very lean and want to stay lean year long but also lift 2 hours a day. i do cardio every day 2 hours a day so burning 1,200 calories minimum. is that overkill? should i stick to 1 hour of 600-700+ and still stay lean year long? i only eat organic food and cook every day.

Yeah I'm like 5 feet 6, female and my BMR and TDEE are around 1700 with a sedentary lifestyle. if I did a 500 calorie cut that puts me at 1200. My issue is that my appetite is very low....I don't even want junk food.

No, if you eat too low calories your metabolism slows down down cause guess what if you're burning too much energy and not getting enough enegry you will die ans your body doesn't want to die so its gonna do its best to not die and start slowing down on its energy use
