This episode needed to air everywhere during COVID

It still needs to be around everywhere, because COVID's still around. I caught it for the first time in April this year, because one of my partner's coworkers didn't take the personal responsibility she should have when she knew she had it and still went to work. And she was somehow confused why everyone was mad at her for getting half the workplace sick!

The end message was actually backwards though. Common sense says it's on the person afraid of getting sick to take personal responsibility for their own health. And the first test proved it due to the one taking precautions not getting coated in the stuff. If you're afraid of getting sick, it is on you to take the precautions and it's also the most effective thing since you shouldn't trust anyone else is. More importantly, to flip it around on the person who is sick doesn't work when you can be infectious before seeing any symptoms. Assuming you see any symptoms at all, of course, which you may very well not. You are responsible for your health. No one else.

Back to left-channel narrator, I see. I remembered this episode quite clearly when the COVID-19 pandemic went underway. I had already taken to hear the lessons about how things can spread a whole lot through touch, and sneezing in to the crook of your elbow to limit exposure to your hands so I felt relatively well prepared on that front, if needed. I was quite glad to have seen this episode back when I did, many years earlier.

One thing did change with COVID. Instead of don't touch stuff with runny nose, just cancel the party. At least where I live people are nowadays more likely to cancel if they are a bit sick, before you'd show up unless you physically couldn't.
@seraphina9852 ай бұрын
That was always the most reliable strategy to not spread any disease, avoid contact with other people entirely until you have fully cleared the infection. As they showed in the show it is definitely possible to reduce the risk sure, but it is so easy to slip up and absentmindedly touch the wrong thing or be caught out by a sudden sneeze or cough. The more time you are in contact with others the more likely one of those things are going to happen too so yeah just avoid contact if at all possible.

I'm guessing it was probably too gruesome to show on daytime TV.. I remember another situation where they didn't show the high speed for that reason, can't recall what myth though. If you go frame by frame (with the comma and period keys) you can see the glass slice through, it does look messy!
