Mythical Cars Rally 2023: Impreza WRC S14, 306 Maxi, Punto S2000, Impreza 555 by BEST, Accent WRC!

Here's a video about the first edition Mythical Cars Rally, an experimental rally that wants to celebrate the most iconic cars of the World Rally Championship from 1995 to 2021 and which was held in the territory of Varzi, located in the South-West of Lombardy in Italy.
Not many entries were allowed for this first edition but thanks to the interesting historical period taken into consideration there was a decent variety of cars. From some of the latest 4WD Group A machines to 2.0-liter WRC icons but also many of the atmospheric beauties of the S2000, S1600 and K10/11 (Kit-Cars) classes. Last but not least even the great sounding R-GT car were eligible.
Among the drivers there were Marcus Grönholm in the grey Subaru Impreza WRC '08, Andreas Mikkelsen reunited with his old Škoda Fabia S2000 and Alister McRae behind the wheel of the Impreza 555 McRae Edition by BEST. The rally was won by Patrick Magnou in the red and black Peugeot 306 Maxi.
Really hope to see a second edition of this event next year and that it keeps growing!

Brilliant video. All the cars I remember seeing back in the day. The impreza still looks and sounds great. I'd much rather watch this than any WRC stuff of today. Even your camera work was better than the WRC highlights we get on TV with more talking than action and usually only showing to top runners. Long live historic rallying.

That first start with the Peogeot 306 Maxi was just a mess. 9,000rpm just to stop it from bogging and stalling followed by a bunch of bad gear changes and smacking the limiter. Not quite what I recall from Giles Pannizi (spl?!)
