We've all been dreaming of and begging for a Mythical Kitchen restaurant for almost as long as we've doing the same for a Will It? Cookbook... We've gotten the latter, so let's hope the former will eventually happen, too! Maybe Lily's hiring was a strategic step in that direction... 🤔😁 But I hope he doesn't "switch", as it wouldn't be GMM without him. ♥️ Indeed, though, very proud of what he's been accomplishing! 🤘

Was that a compliment? Mythical Chef Josh is a chef with his own show
@DUKE_of_RAMBLE8 ай бұрын
@@aug8478 I think in Josh's eyes, he's a bit of an imposter, though. As he was a food critic previously, and hasn't had (to my knowledge) any culinary training. That's definitely not to say that in order to be a great cook, a great _Chef,_ REQUIRES one to be traditionally trained... Josh has the natural nack for it. I think Gordon meant in it a sense that if Josh were to pursue being one in a restaurant, he'd be great at it. Coming behind closed doors, which is definitely what he does at Mythical, is quite different from that of a line cook or master chef, serving the masses. _edit: removed errant "we've" from the start._
@raymondparisza50948 ай бұрын
@@DUKE_of_RAMBLE A chef doesn't need any formal training. The best way to learn is in a kitchen.
@DUKE_of_RAMBLE8 ай бұрын
@@raymondparisza5094 Which I _don't think_ he has, outside of his own kitchen. (I could be wrong, though) That's the point I was trying to make. It's been all self taught. Which I think in most people's eyes, you're not able to refer to yourself as a professional Chef until it's been your profession. Now that I think about it further... I wonder if what Gordon really meant by Chef, was _Head_ Chef; the one who leads the whole kitchen. Because, arguably, that's close to what he's been doing with the Mythical Kitchen... except that it's a private kitchen, without the same stressor. Thus, the compliment is in Gordon telling him that he has what it takes to do this in a restaurant setting. At the end of the day, *_whatever_* intricacies Gordon meant by it... He was paying Josh an immense compliment, which is how most of us received it. 😊

To be honest, I do like the appreciation for Indonesian and Indian food that Gordon has shared over the years. My wife is Indonesian and I knew NOTHING about the food before she started cooking. She was a domestic helper for a very wealthy couple in Hong Kong, where I also visited one of Gordon's restaurants. She says her mother cooks even better then she does and is currently working at a restaurant in Semarang. If you haven't been able to taste traditional Indonesian or Indian cooking(not the westernized stuff), I would suggest it. The spices, flavors and heat are out of this world. The diversity of flavor is crazy. From Indonesia, you have everything from Islamic centered, beautifully crafted curries, noodles, rices or stews, to the more Hindu east Indonesia, where they have a lot of exotic flavors. Get out of your comfort zone. Myself and my wife will travel over 200 miles to the Asian markets in big cities and she will tell me every way that certain dishes can be cooked with foods that most Americans don't know exist or don't bother trying. I have travelled the world twice over multiple times and can say that there is a reason the Spice Road existed for so many centuries.

thats usually what it refers to - death row inmates know they're gonna die, so in a way they have the freedom of choice with that. Most people dont

This is now my favorite Gordon Ramsay interview. The culinary industry is so interesting because it's relatively easy to get into. I've seen dudes that dropped out of high school go on to become executive chefs just by working hard and having a true passion for cooking.

Gordon Ramsey is very likable and charming, despite the energy he portrays in his shows.

For Gordon to say that he would make a great chef is really something. I hope Josh takes that to heart. Gordon is the GOAT.

It’s really interesting how Gordon talked about how chefs and others would be traded and move around. That’s how popular great chefs worked hundreds of years ago.

I can’t imagine how intimidating it must be to prepare a meal for Gordon Ramsay, let alone his favourite dishes. Congrats to the Mythical Kitchen!

Yeah like at 21:40 he didn’t need a recipe for the Wellington, he just had to stare intensely at a picture of Gordon to know what’s at stake if he messes up, and the intuition guided him to a perfect result

Gordon could get bisected in a train calamity, then show up three months later expediting while bouncing on the pogo stick that now makes up the lower half of his body. (Silliness aside, wishing him well in his recovery, of course.)

Whats incredible is Josh was hired to make silly foods for Rhett and Link and now he's sharing meals and interviewing people like Tom Hanks and Gordon Ramsey with a cookbook on its way to the stores. Congratulations to Josh and the Mythical Kitchen crew, what a testament to their true talent

That’s what I believe the R&L peeps do. They hire talent they believe have great potential and become somewhat mentors for them to succeed as individuals. Amazing crew

Its also sad thinking about how many talented people never make it because they dont get lucky or get help from a brand like Mythical

Josh is hands down their best hire. I love everyone but Josh is another level of natural on screen talent. He’s a massive massive asset to Mythical.
