You are not the only for idw. But it is a relatively old comics and by this time most people have already read it and moved on or have no interest at all. There is also the issue that bobby kinda lost interest in idw comics arround the time hasbro pushed their agenda (combiner wars)but I loved his last stand of wreckers video

Hey Bobby, fascinating video. I've always had a soft spot for Citizen Stack as he was the first MP scale Magnus, this looks pretty damn good though. It will definitely need some paint, but as we know, it will get that metallic glossy look that XTB do so well.

Something in the milk ain’t clean with XTB’s absence at that show….and I just Preordered First-Aid this morning, and it’s listed as MC-31 Paragon AND MX-31B Paragon Medical Bed set…so they did exactly what you said. It’s pretty clear to me that the medical bed is a combiner arm as the fist is visible…this is one of the smartest ways to accomplish the heavy partsforming aspect for the limbs (when needed for aesthetics.

@@christianc.christian5025 at first I just thought XTB had already shown so much, that they didn’t have any more to show at the time. They revealed so much prior to the show…but then right after the show they revealed even more. It just feels like something is off with the business relationship between XTB and the major players of the show. Maybe it was their Locke 1.0 that left a bad taste in the mouth of so many retailers & consumers. Maybe they realized their own power of revealing things on their own, and getting the feedback direct from the community…What do you think?

Wow, so cool you got that insider's perspective. 3rd party is so mysterious to me. I would LOVE to see that MP10 armor version. MP10 is my Prime because of how good he looks with XTB Gravestone. Anyway, I can't wait for this new Ultra Magnus to come out!!

Wasn’t there talk of Keith setting up his own store and selling directly to customers? That could definitely ruffle some feathers in all areas (other companies, distributors and online retail stores). I think he’s showing his hand that he can go it alone. And good for him if he does. Maybe it will keep costs down for us, the consumer.

I’m very happy with my Takara MP Ultra Magnus. I’m ok with Ultra Magnus being really tall bc that’s the way I see the figure as in the G1 cartoon. Im not 100% convinced that the scale chart is that accurate.

That looks like an arm for defensor. Bottom right you can see the hand tucked away and there looks to be design pieces in the bicep that likely extend the ambulance mode of first aid. Yeah, hopefully it comes with him and not in some $300 accessory kit like that menasor a while back.

I wonder if XTB will start including rebuild kits with all of their releases so that folks can repair the toys right away after the first transformation attempt? Their stuff is like the hot chick in the club, looks great when you first hit on them but totally falls apart when you try to "transform" them into a normal relationship.

Great episode, sir! Thanks for getting that interview with an ACTUAL KFC toy designer. I love that behind-the-scenes stuff! Question: is something really amiss, or was X-Transbots just making a smart marketing decision by not giving anything away in prep for that 3rd-Party panel? Or is all off that stuff confidential until the panel actually takes place? Either way, they are bringing the HEAT and gobbling up the 3rd-Party market!

Two of my favorite display arrangements, that have mostly remained unchanged for YEARS are: My kfc citizen stack still standing comfortably atop a shelf with my MP01 and MP09 in hot rod mode with visor and buzzsaw. and A custom painted kfc D.A.I. commander stack entirely in black & silver with teal highlights (i.e. Nemesis Prime-esque colors) standing next to an MPP10B holding a 2.5" war machine by the heel (mimicking civil war esque scene w/ antman), with cliff dagger standing on the shoulder, while a 2.5" sam jackson/nick fury sits in the cannon portion of a V.E.N.O.M. jackhammer, shooting upward.

I think a part of the reasoning behind the shift in marketing could be to better control the message, to get more attention. To compare it to something like a Nintendo Direct. Yes, they could take their reveals to E3 (they often do), but more often then not, most reveals for upcoming games on Nintendo consoles come from these short livestreams spaced out every few months, on days when the other companies in the industry, both hardware and software producers, aren't talking much. Because of that, the streams get a lot more attention. Granted, they could always bring new product to TFCons and other shows to have in person examples. But if the products are getting more attention on their own, when they're not competing with all the reveals of all the other companies, why would they keep it to just TFCon?

One reason I will say though, as to why I have faith in this particular ultra Magnus, is because of the core scale ultra Magnus figures that have come out lately. If they can do those as great as they have done, they certainly should be able to do a masterpiece scale even better

As Travis White said, the medical bay for First Aid is a separate piece that forms the arm, not the leg. It looks like some distributors are including it with preorders but I think it will probably be available separately after release.

Regarding the Med Bay for First Aid.... I have a feeling the combiner parts will be included, just based on the price of the figure. If you look back at Monolith, the bots were all cheap to avoid the KO fiasco, so he had to make his money on the back-end with the trailer. It sucked, but it makes sense. With Bastion, the bots, so far, are all more expensive out the gate, so not as much imperative to back-end load the cost with and additional piece. Take all this with the backlash they got over Monolith, I really can't see them pulling that again, especially when no other company making combiners is doing business that way. (They may change more for the last bot, for sure, but it's not $300 extra.) Lastly, we have to consider Locke in here, too. They generated so much I'll will with fans over that figure they've been in repair mode ever since (replacing the figures, cool reveals, etc). If I'm a company that just had two major blunders, I'm not going to knowingly repeat one of them, and do another trailer-type thing for tons of extra dough. I'm totally speculating on all this, but as someone in Marketing looking at this from the outside, another big money add-on for the combiner components would be a disaster.

Not gonna lie, I love my MP-22 Magnus and yes, even the scale. But I could also be very easily tempted to swap out for the XTB offering. It looks fantastic. My only (very very minor) gripe is that I wish it were more in line with MP-44 without the silver strip for the truck mode.

Thanks for the video. Great as always. In my opinion I think its a similar situation to what happened to you. When they were setting this up they just treated them like hacks which they aren't. Instead of "bending the knee" xtb and kfc said nah. I'll do it myself.

Only thing XTB didn't do right that Takara did, was the rotation out of the rubber truck wheels to the shrunken faux wheel buds on the outside bottom of the feet

I ended up missing this video at the time, but with more future knowledge I found it interesting the Lift Ticket (red Hoist) figure that was noticeably absent from the deluge of XTB reveals just before TFCon October happened to be a TFCon exclusive in December. The question then becomes was he just fulfilling a prior commitment and it has no bearing on the future, or was it something specific to the October TFCon that he was boycotting.

As much as I love KFC/XTB (still one of my favorite companies), I think I'll keep my MP-22 (though with the KFC hands). It mostly comes down to the greebling. I know the cartoon aesthetic is all the rage right now, but I prefer a more realistic or even updated look. The XTB offering is incredible, but it's just too smooth, especially on the trailer.

Hear hear. My THF KO is fun. I can accept clunky. Looks cool and greebly, checks the box, addresses some of the MP's quibbles. Don't feel any pull to replace it with a toy that painstakingly copies an image from an animation error-ridden season of the show. I'll stay with Hulk Magnus.

Is it possible the medical bay for FA is the leg shell for his part of Defensor and FA fits inside that shell something akin to Zeta's Silverbolt going into that large Superion shell? Great look at the Ultra Magnus as well Bobby. While the character isn't important enough for me to swap out (plus I'm seriously looking at several XTB figures already so I don't need the extra cash going out), I do hope it turns out well and those who want to swap out gets a better figure in the process.

This Magnus figure has been a long wait for me… I was backpedaling away from XTB for the past year, but after they gave me a new Locke and they put up photos of the new Commander Stack piece, I caved and got in on an order. Depending on how things go with Eligos, I may or may not glance at Abaddon too? They’re releasing so many great-looking movie figures but are such a question mark.

I like this new take on KFC's/XTB's Magnus...but that face sculpt is an early FansToys level of fail for me. Even KFC's "Citizen Stack" blows this away in the face sculpt. I do hope that there aren't any engineering faux pas like they had with their "Gravestone" Motormaster. Don't want no tiny, potentially flimsy joint in a critical, potentially diecast or much heavier plastic area.

Citizen stack is still my choice for mp magnus. Pulled him down as late as last Wednesday for a transformation session. Always loved the foot design.

I'm taking this chance to express some concerns I have relating X Transbots and the way they are trying to regain our trust after the Locke and the trailer fiascos. First I want you to know that XTB was one of my favorite TF action figures 3rd party companies and to some degree it still is but they need to regain my trust before I start preordering their figures. When you preorder a figure you need to trust the company is able to deliver because if the figure ends up being a piece of trash you either keep a very expensive piece of trash or cancel it before paying the balance, you lose the fee money and ruin your relation with a shop you've been buying from for ages. I know XTB replaced the v1 Locke but some of it's issues are still present, the transformation is very complicated and the end result when you get to the alt mode is flimsy and feels unfinished. Imagine the triple changer Virtus using the same type of engineering Locke does, it will be a nightmare to transform and when a TF action figure only looks good in bot mode I rather it be an action figure and not a transforming one. At this moment and until XTB proves it can deliver steadily I won't be preordering their figures. When you commit to buy a TF action figure combiner of 5 or more pieces you're committing to spend a big amount of money, again you have to trust the company releasing it or you may end up with half a combiner in hand. Besides if after you gave up on you first option you want that other version from that other company you will have to pay late taxes on each piece now that you're late because you trusted the first company. After that trailer fiasco XTB should be answering the questions about the combiner parts, about how are they going to be released and how much will they cost. They also suddenly raised the price on Virtus (about the same time FT raised theirs) who had been on preorder for around three years and threw in some accessories just to shut us up about the price increase. After all this bad moves XTB is flooding us with preorders, 48 if I'm not mistaken and they have nothing but 3D computer renders to show for most of them. They want us to blindly trust them and preorder 48 expensive TF action figures all in one go. That is not a good move to gain my trust back, I'm not going to preorder a single one of their TF action figures until they've proved they can be trusted. They should be trying to slowly regain the collectors trust one TF action figure at a time and not trying to financially cover their mistakes at our expense by charging preorders fees for 48 TF action figures.

Anyone seen the new power master prime coming from KFC.. Its up on the chosen prime and its listed as $149.99.....And that's just the cab... The trailer is ANOTHER $199.99 and if you want the apex armour trailer.. (god bomber trailer) to go with it that's a FURTHER $199.99 so you would have to fork out $550.00 for the full set.
