The Differences between the first and second appear to be minor, but have a BIG impact overall. Your quick comparison between FTs version and XTBs shows that XTB can definitely give FT a run for their money. Very Impressed with the overall appearance. XTB stepping up, on their own dime and time to fix the QC issues and reengineer some of their Locke speaks bodes about thow much they value their customers and feedback. Fyi for the record, I DO NOT have a DOG in the fight. I have mostly stayed away the Movie Characters.

True it does speak volumes that XTB is stepping up making things right with locke! So many great releases on the way and they will kill it with the good price point if they hit the high quality

The big hands transform with no problem, there is actually plenty of room and then some. I actually took the Fans Style articulated hands for MP Prowl and shaved down the mushroom peg til it matched the peg of the XTB hands and gave him those. They hold and fit the weapons/accessories so much better. They are in between size of the big hands and small also transforming with no trouble at all. Great review Mike! Btw, for some pieces that have to flex, at least they made those parts out of flexible plastic instead of rigid plastic so its accommodated on purpose imo. Also, the panels on the legs that flip inside creating clearance for the wheel to come through are on sliders to move down toward the foot and you wont have to force the little panels above them.

Cool that the big hands fit in the alt mode also! Yes none of the panels felt like they would break although some thin parts feel fragile

2:43 I like subtle, yet obvious (provided one knows what to look for), differences in peg alignment and paint applications between versions. They make it easier for consumers to know what version they're getting. Who knows, perhaps(?) Keith has additional reasons for it on the production side as well, e.g. to make sure the factories don't use extra, older parts on the new release to shave expenses on their end.

That may be why they remolded many of those obvious parts so v1 can not be passed as v2

One of the biggest things I appreciate about this one is that it doesn't have a line going down the middle of the windshield. I mean the vertical line going straight through on the FT version.

The community needs to give XTB their due. I know they pretty much HAD to respond in some way to the issues with Locke, but they went above and beyond. It changed my mind on whether to buy XTB in the future or not. The only XTB figure I own is Scourge, but I have their runabout/runamock preordered, as well as their Magnus. Fingers crossed their attention to quality and consumer satisfaction stays in gear.

I've not been following this closely because I didn't buy the 1st run. Did they send these out as free replacements, or deeply discounted for those who bought the originals? If they did that then by all means they deserve much respect for addressing the issue. If that's not how it was handled then NO, they deserve absolutely nothing from the fandom.

I got a V2 Locke for my bday and I like it quite a bit. It’s been to truck and back twice without anything breaking and it all works fine. Not really a fun transformation but at least it doesn’t require the bending of things around other things or tabbing three sets of things around each other a la Koot. I have both and much prefer Locke.

To me Locke visually beats Koot hands down. Just a sleeker aesthetic. Koot looks goofy and bulky in comparison. Plus with Locke v2 the QC issues are resolved and it feels like a very solid premium figure.

I've not been closely following this since I passed on the V1. Did XTB send these out as replacements, deep discount to those who bought V1, or did they refund V1 buyers?

Imo it looks so much better than the FT. XTB tends to have really, really great sculpts, only to be brought down by overly complex engineering and bad QC. Glad the V2 is better. I wish their output was consistently so good.

Nice job, Mike. Crazy transformation. I haven't seen Fuzz but I can't believe he's actually a worse transformation than Locke! I was scoping your table for paint chips and didn't see any! Why are my hands so sweaty?

There was some paint chipping but very little. It is nearly painted all over so that will be hard to avoid

Looks way better than Fans Toys Kup but, I'll be keeping my FT Kup as it's good enough and transformation is super simple compared to this.

This has got to be one of THE worst transformations I've ever seen. I watched several reviewers transform this thing and none of them make it look easy either.
