Here's a counter tip for tip 4, smash the chest, loosing items in a chest by breaking it is a myth.. only exception is if the item gets blown up after chest is destroyed

0:10 - Tip #1 - Interrupt Cutscenes to save lives by clicking the "Attack" button located on the bottom left of the screen 0:48 - Tip #2 - Trade with almost anyone, talk to them, click on Trade/Hand Option located on the bottom left of the screen 1:28 - Tip #3 - Position yourself on the opposite side of a door, place a crate in the doorway, open/close door as needed to attack 2:10 - Tip #4 - Barbarians can unlock chests by throwing/pushing them off high cliffs which will break them open or by Smashing them 2:49 - Tip #5 - Use bonus actions to throw a potion at your party, if grouped together it will act as an AoE heal OR use a constant ground affect spell such as Cloud of Daggers, make sure your character is close, and just drop the healing potion into the affected area (dropping does not use an action) 3:32 - Tip #6 - Before Combat, group up party members, enter turn based mode, throw a Potion of Speed on the ground to buff them all for three turns 4:09 - Tip #7 - Store Crates in inventory to create makeshift towers you can climb on for high ground bonuses 4:35 - Tip #8 - Click on an item in your inventory, hold Shift, click an item on the same row or a different row in your inventory, this will Highlight all items between the one you originally clicked and the last item you clicked, you can then Right Click for options for all of those items, such as Add To Wares, Send To Camp, Send to Character, etc. Alternatively you can Click an Item, hold Ctrl and click individual items and then right click any of those highlighted items to do the same thing 5:19 - Tip #9 - In underground basements, stack Crates near walls so you can just jump over the walls 6:05 - Tip #10 - Look at affects on items, equip them as stat sticks such as more AC or an added bonus affect when meeting certain requirements 6:48 - Tip #11 - Dropping items does not use a turn, you can use this to your advantage by placing damaging ground affects such as Cloud of Daggers, or burning fire, and then Dropping an item into the area of affect to set it off, example throw a Flask of Alchemist Fire, then Drop wine bottles, oil barrels, powder kegs, etc. Use at your own risk 7:33 - Tip #12 - Pick up Bodies right click on them send to to your camp for your necromancer abilities (can't pick up all bodies obviously) 8:07 - Tip #13 - If enemies keep reanimating bodies, just pick up the bodies yourself so they can't be reanimated anymore

Even better than tip #4, you can send locked chests to camp, then have Astarion pick the locks there and also get you inspiration for using thieves tools. Edit: While on the topic of astarion, the BEST feat for an assassin is Great Weapon Master. Why when rogues dont use heavy weapons? Simple. GWM lets you attack with a bonus action whenever you crit with a melee weapon. Regardless of weight. Assassins get guaranteed critical hits with melee weapons on any enemy that hasnt taken a turn in combat. So that means you get a guaranteed crit sneak attack with an immediate follow up attack with your bonus action. And congrats! Because thats just your surprise round. Guess who immediately gets their action refreshed after a surprise round? Assassins. Another round of guaranteed critical sneak attack for you. Another follow up bonus action attack for you. Now combat starts, and considering you're smart and gave Astarion good dexterity and his initiative is roughly one trillion, you sir/madame, get ANOTHER guaranteed crit sneak attack, and another bonus weapon attack. For those keeping track at home, thats 6 attacks, 3 guaranteed critical hit sneak attacks, before your enemy has a chance to blink. If thats not enough for you, quaff a quick lil' potion of speed before you start and... well.... I'll let you do the math on how stupid-broken this gets..... You're level 4, by the way. With 6-9 (mostly critical hit) attacks before your enemy moves. You're welcome. -- Edit: Update to the Astarion inspiration thing. My game was bugged, and I didn't know it. Sorry for the misinformation though. The great weapon master tip, however... now that works like a charm.

@@cobrazax it's broken AF in an awesome way. Without spoiling anything, I had Astarion at level 8 solo a level 10 boss associated with his questline with this pretty easily. Granted, I gave him 5 levels of ranger (gloomstalker) which also gave him multi-attack each of those actions but.... still. Suuuuuper juicy.

Regarding Tip #4: Loot does not get destroyed when the chest it is in is destroyed no matter the means. It can technically be destroyed with a fireball or chain lightning and it drops the contents on the ground. So you can skip the "pick the chest up and throw it down a cliff" step and just smash it with a blunt weapon. It does make absolutely zero difference. Regarding Tip #5: If you drop a potion and attack it by whatever means the healing radius is bigger. But casting cloud of daggers is a dangerous idea as the character to be healed needs to be in rather close proximity to a dangerous spell. You can on the other hand attack with an off hand weapon using a bonus action. Meaning have a rogue nearby or equip a hand crossbow on your cleric. Since you can't miss objects with an attack you don't have to mind that either.

Technically you can destroy things in there if you set of multiple explosions (hi barrelmancers out there), but that's a pretty corner case situation

@@jarrodbright5231 Close. The first explosion destroys the barrel/chest/whatever and the *SECOND* explosion damages/destroys the contents of the barrel/chest/whatever that is dropped. Yes that includes "secondary explosions" because the first explosion triggered the destruction of an oil/smokepowder barrel and those contents caught fire by the small candle on the wall.

The one question I have is related to items in a stack while in combat. If you have a stack of the healing potions per se and you select to throw it as was explained in the video for tips, does the entire stack of potions get thrown or does it throw a single potion?

Eagle Heart Barbarian has the Diving Strike ability, you can stack boxes to get enough height for this without running around finding a high ground. Three boxes are enough to use it on an enemy at the same elevation as you. You may need to stack more to get to higher enemies. The jump has a massive distance that scales of height, yet unlike Jump, it doesn’t consume your movement, so you can move a deceptively long distance with this ability. Also if you are collecting boxes, collect the long trunks instead of the cube crates. They weigh about the same, and the long trunks has the benefit of helping you build a barrier against missiles. I used this to force enemy missile units to shoot at my monk who can deflect missile and throw back, or anyone with high enough DC to not care, while hiding my squishy unit behind the “fort”.

Tip 14: As a necromancer, inspect the bodies (T while hovering over them or right click on them and inspect). Second Tab. Weight. Some bodies are better for later use, because they are lighter, like goblins and little chi... eh, people. Tip 15: Ignore the complaints from your companions about them needing to carry bodies. Everything for the good cause. Tip 16: You can store bodies outside of your camp, I didn't test that intensively, but I noticed that if you leave some items on them, they probably stay. Pick up the smaller ones, raise the bigger ones and leave the rest with some garbage inside of them. Tip 17: Leave your minions behind, if you want to enter a settlement or want to talk to people which you don't want to fight. Similar to cute familiars, people will react to them and it can even glitch a bit for quests here and there. Tip 18: Murder everyone. Everyone dead = more corpses for you! Oh you're not the dark urge? Well, then I'm out of tips.

Maybe everyone already knows this, but an awesome trick is to throw a CONTAINER full of potions. Find something you're not ready for that's WAY to powerful for you to handle? Throw a pouch or a backpack with like 20 potions in it at them, or fill it with good potions and throw it at your party.

Tip4 is not really something to be worried about as the loot in a chest won't break if you smash it. Someone did a test with 100+ chest and compared the contents after lockpicking and after bashing them open. They all had the exact same loot inside. Apparently breakable items like potions only get destroyed if they are hit by a (secondary) explosion.

My personal tip in BG3 is simply to pickup all the Smokepowder, Oil, and Water Barrels in the game 😂. Just pickup on strongest character, send rest to Camp Travelers Chest. Retrieve them as necessary visiting back to Camp. But use then strategically when needed but all up to you to blow up tougher enemies in massive explosions. Use Water Barrels to Lightning Shock enemies if you have certain buff gear that has electrical charges.

There are also chests that require a good jump distance to get to. I just get my barb to jump over, pick the chests up and bring them back for the rogue to open. You could also send them to camp and swit h to a rogue for a loot crate session.

You can cast fleetfooted on your whole party after every long rest as well and it’ll last until the next long rest. Even if it’s a character you don’t bring out with you.

About the door strat you can arcane lock a door after tossing a spell like cloud kill or moonbeam that lingers and let the effect kill them if you want, something I learned from bg1 and 2 though ai was too dumb to open doors.

#7 have seen star wars but were lucky enough to stop at 3. Related to 13 a couple of enemies throw mines that you can pick up for free before they explode and use yourself. Some of these are timed and will pop out of your inventory at the end of your turn so be careful (This may be so obvious that I have never seen it mentioned before or just so rare since there are literally only two of them I can remember)

Here is another one: Glyph of Warding set to fire damage. If you know here the enemy will spawn in a cut scene, you can set it up ahead of time so it detonates in the cutscene before anything else. The fire damage, can ignite explosives as well. Get creative :)

I like it, but It's totally broken. The basic healing potion does like up to 10 hp, but when you throw it at 4 people it can suddenly heal up to 40 hp.

When you were putting bodies into chests I thought you were going to do one of my pet tricks: pile up crates, climb up then throw the bodies at your opponent. Get a high enough stack of crates and that can be an insane amount of damage. And you thought that maxed out strength was for melee damage..?

My best tip for the first week of playing is just have fun creating new characters in easy mode with different classes and have "Skeletor" change some of your compagnons too. You start 5 or 6 games, play each long enough to figure out how you want to go to the end. Tip for a clean up crew: Presently I'm playing with 2 sorcerers and 2 wizards, they all have the magic missile spell which never miss and can hit multiple targets, do the math, for this spell at level 2, it's 4 strikes x 2 rounds for each players for a total of 32 deadly hits! If you wonder, I'm a wizard who converted Sadowheart and Lae'zel to sorceresses.

I collect bodies as trophies. At least his serve a purpose. I’d drop them in my favorite camp, but after Act 3 locked me out of the first 2 acts, the starter trophies are gone. Now I keep them in chests, but some camp NPCs become aggro if you mess with some of the bodies.

Drinking a potion uses your bonus action - throwing it uses your main action. Also you can just smash a chest with a cantrip or weapon, no need to throw it off a cliff.

You can just smash chests, the content doesn't break unless there are explosions. And be careful with handling bodies, some NPCs don't like it. I have had Volo report me to the Oathbreaker Knight when I loaded bodies form my camp stash to my inventory, who then attacked me.

I'm a destructomancer, so I basically attack and destroy all the statics like doors + beds + barrels + chests :p I love all the pieces of wood and what not laying about, ha.....
