Always loved this one. This is so poignant now as both Jim Boyd and Lee Chamberlin are gone.

I grew up in the 70s and watched The Electric Company every day. For some reason this song popped into my head today and I wanted to hear it. Thank you KZbin! I also loved the lollipop song and "Sweet, Sweet Sway", among others.

Cute song with a catchy tune that does a good job explaining what 'n apostophe t' is- yet it also touched on the possibility that this surly 'child' might actually be a victim and in need of a friend!

They don't write ones like this nowadays. A great memorable one from my childhood. Just great music and lyrics.

I was born in the 2000’s and remember my parents had an entire dvd set of this, I used to listen and watch these all the time. Now that I’ve grown, I recently re-discovered Tom Lehrer and I’ve been literally hooked! This is a great reminder of my childhood!

Lehrer is why I began looking into Electric Company more! I was only familiar with the reboot before I began really looking into haha. Always nice seeing fellow Lehrer fans :)

Bruh the nostalgia from this, I don't think I watched this show but I remember watching this song back in first grade and now I'm in high school. so crazy it's already been that long

Really a charming and actually touching song and I have to salute the Electric Company for showcasing interracial relationships in this and other skits way back in the early '70s. However, I can't agree with your choice of this as "by far" your "favorite" Lehrer contribution to the Electric Company canon. "Silent E" forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@vaticanragged98162 жыл бұрын
"Silent E" is a good one, too! The Electric Company was a pretty progressive show for the time, from what I've seen, so I agree- definitely something to salute!

That was fun. I remember The Electric Company. The dress was definitely a girl's size. Hopefully it didn't rain with those white tights. Jim did introduce some of the episodes on the DVD. He looked very different. Sadly, Lee didn't participate in the release. RIP to both of them.

It was a TV show called "The Electric Company," from back in the 1970's. It, along with "Sesame Street," taught kids of the '70s and '80s to read.
