Ok, this is unfair, how come actual born Native Americans cannot vote, but yet people that want to come here illegally get vote. This makes no sense and this is not right my grandmother was Native American and she voted. If she can vote, then Native Americans should be able to vote period no excuses. It is the same thing with columbus day, it is a holiday about a man who harmed innocent Native Americans, seriously abolish this holiday. this make no sense, must have residental address, the mailing address of the reserve should be enough, you don't have to have house in blocks and streets named, how is it that farmers can vote, they live on road or county line, rm of what ever, so this make no sense that you raise this issue with out full understanding of what it means, i applaud you for trying to stop the pipe line, but anyone on a reserve, that is their community, that address that the reserve gets its mail is the same as all the people who live there

How can you vote for an election in a state you technically dont live in. Indian reservations are entirely amune from state and local laws yet they are allowed to vote in them as well as vote for the people representing the states they are not residents of. I honestly think if you want to vote in an election, at least be a resident of the jurisdiction you are voting in. Now I am all for getting rid of reservations and just making them part of the states and letting the indians have all the same legal rights as everyone else, but if you want to vote, you should at least be resident of the area.

You realize all of this happened over a hundred years ago right. Back then, natives and settlers were slaughtering each other back and forth. Neither side were angels. As for using this as some way to demonize the US, oh please, every single country has some kind of dirt in their past. Well, we have in many European countries, my country Finland in Northern Europe included, very strict voting control, so that 100% all the voters are real voters and have legal right to vote without any possibility to election manipulation. All people, who have legal right to vote, the all over 18 citizens of Finland, are too always automatically registered by the State of Finland to vote or alternatively to pre-vote beforehand about a week time few days before the election days or then to vote during the official election days. Double voting or illegal voting are totally impossible, but all the over 18 years old citizens have automatic access to pre-voting and voting places with legal official identity card (passport, driving licence card or official identity card) fast and very easily without long waiting lines etc.. and they can vote only once whatever day they select to vote. Then all the over 18 year old citizens of Finland have their official home place area, where they are mostly living physically and where they can vote during the official elections days and pre-voting then is possible about a week time before the official election days all around Finland (shopping centers, post offices, libraries, etc.). It takes normally a few minutes and one of the officially accepted identity cards or a passport with you and we have a lot of voting and pre-voting places all around the country.
