The first few minutes where its just trains running is so relaxing to me. The sound, the speed of the trains, the number of trains, and the opposing directions just does it for me. I know the sound is recorded and distorted I wish I could hear it in person. I love that these trains are operating at what look like proper speeds.

Cheers yes I try to run the trains at realistic speeds, though they may be too fast.

Hi Ben, great job with the ballasting I think the less is more principle works well and good tones achieved with the weathering! Great to see those long trains and the new 68 looks a really nice loco! Cheers Gary

Hiya Ben , What a Great Update and some really Neat work on the Ballast . I usually use Ballast Bond from Delux Materials . But have been known to use PVA / Washing up liquid . Was going to say something about the 68 ( But already mentioned it somewhere else 😂) got to get back to editing my Video . Stay safe mate and keep up the great modelling

Cheers Andrew, quite enjoyed the ballasting process actually, the biggest stress was the airbrush weathering as I wasnt sure I had the right brownish tone, and had to do lots of mixes which kept buggering up the airbrush, look forward to seeing your vid mate, hope your 68 is in it.

@@staffordstationngauge8359 oh yes the 68 is in it plus 2 new 47's and maybe the the Revolution trains class 59/0 also a update on the rebuild project ,

I do appreciate a good running session before a "how-to" video. Nice layout :) I would suggest really slow down the camera pan speed - about 1/2 of your current speed is good - otherwise it's too hard on the eyes!
@staffordstationngauge83599 ай бұрын
Cheers Jonathan, not sure I can do that as I use an iphone to film. Will probably pan less quickly when I am talking over the layout as it blurs the vid.

Great running shots on the start of the video. Ballasting looks really good. The 68 in that striking livery - where did you get the loco from if you don't mind me asking? Cheers Euan

Thanks Euan , I got the DCC fitted version from Rails. Took a while to get the consist right with the other 68.

What shade of paint did you use for the sleepers on the points? (assuming they started life black)
@staffordstationngauge835910 ай бұрын
I airbrushed painted Humbrol 121, you can paint them but it takes a lot of coats to cover the brown.
