I'd like to imagine there was a time when Regigigas wasn't nearly as "peaceful" as it is currently, most likely back when it was doing all of that continent-hauling the Pokédex has told us about. That task in combination with creating the Legendary Titans is probably what led to the burnt-out dad demeanor it has in the modern era.

The original Regi trio are perhaps my favourite non-box legendaries. Not only do they have that mysterious ancient aura about them and have one of the best battle themes in the series, but every time they appear in a new region, it's like they're just 3 bros on a holiday

I think the idea of Regigigas is that he’s an old golem, once extremely powerful, but now retired and chilling at the bottom of a temple, frozen. Even when awakened, it needs time to fully return to its former state of power, hence slow start.

Regigigas made the titans, he made 1 for each age. The ice age, the stone age, and the iron age, the new regis still follow this theme with the electrical age and the medieval age. The regis however are not nice pokemon as in cannon they attack people if given the chance (the movie when they try to murder ash and friends) so humans sealed them away for safety.

I still haven’t gotten my regigigas in sword because I shiny hunted it for a year. I hope I can at least get it in bdsp. Nah, who cares anyway! No one likes Pokémon! I’m just wasting my time playing a garbage fest that’s beyond mediocre. I’m not allowed to like the games apparently because it’s the “wrong opinion” to have. (I’ll still play the games no matter how good or offensively bad they are somehow and I can’t wait for legends arceus. Also the Regis are my favourite group of legendary Pokémon ever and I’m honestly happy that they are a thing even if people hate the 2 new ones and regigigas sucks because it has slow start. Regigigas is a true chad)
