Hey man great ride. I own a 1.5 nd as well in turkey. Unfortunatly taxes here are so bad they dont even import the 2 liter. Anyway i wanted to ask you are you happy with your exhaust.. im looking to upgrade mine little bit

Nice MX-5 there. I am going to buy a ND soon but I am still a little unsecure whether to go for 1.5 or 2.0. Since I also live in Denmark I am considering your setup with the 1.5 (higher rev, lower weight) and then ECU tune and exhaust and suspension. But I would like to know if you have been missing the LSD which is standard in the 2.0. I can see that you are on the track so you might know if there is a big difference on the track with or without LSD in a MX-5. Are you are member of the MX-5 Club Denmark? Regards, Chr. Krogh
@christianlundmand71326 жыл бұрын
Hej Christian. Jeg ejer ikke bilen længere, men jeg kan sige, at havde jeg haft pengene havde jeg valgt 2.0. De ekstra heste og moment savnes. Jeg er også fan af drifting, men det er svært uden LSD.
@christiankrogh81276 жыл бұрын
@christianlundmand71326 жыл бұрын

Thanks for posting this, It certainly seems to go well. I pick up my 1.5 Blue reflex MX 5 in August :) Did the ECU tune affect fuel economy with normal driving?
@christianlundmand71327 жыл бұрын
Thanks. The tune has had no effect at all on fuel economy. I haven't noticed any downsides so far (6 months since the tune).

Hi, nice time for the little 1.5. For information, I have the 2019 ND 1.5 and after the tune I have 153hp and 180Nm on the dyno (132hp and 155Nm before). I am really surprised (mainly by the torque !!) How could it be possible ? Sure I can feel a nice improvement vs stock.
@IguanaFilmArts3 жыл бұрын
A lot of it has to do with the fact that this 1.5L's Power has been underreported by Mazda, and the tune is one the safe side so it's quite easy to squeeze a 150hp 180NM out of it. I always say the 1.5L tuned is perfect for soft top and ND2 perfect for an RF model.

I would ask the tuner. But I think a little more fuel and a higher redline.

Christian, is it the Flyin Mazda Hush o Matic exhaust you have? And did you use it with the Miata 1.5? I ask this question because I can only find 2.0’s fitted with the Hush o Matic. I have a 1.5 and would like to know for sure it works with the 1.5.
@christianlundmand71325 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's the Hush o matic. And yes, it's the 1.5. I don't remember if there's a difference. Ask the manufacture.
@brunooudega66515 жыл бұрын
Christian Lundmand Thanks! The manufacturer says there is no difference, they just didn’t test the 1.5 with the Hish o matic themselves. But when I look at the video it seems to work with the 1.5 😉. Which ECU tuner did you use, BBR of something else?

Instead of buying the 1.5 version (135hp) and powering it up near the 2.0 (160hp), why didn't you just buy the 2.0? There isn't such a big price gap. 1.5 revs higher but 2.0 is a winner in terms of torque...
@christianlundmand71327 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, I live in Denmark with 180% tax on motorvehicles, making the price difference quite substantial. Added on top comes double price in ensurance and pollution (miles per gallon) fee for the 2.0. Sucks to live in Denmark (or Norway) if you're a petrolhead...
@tr4nc3r507 жыл бұрын
Hummm that's a shame. In my country (Spain) taxes are also higher for bigger engines (in terms of capacity in litres, not power) but the difference is about 60 euros per year, not such a big deal. The 1.5 ain't a bad engine tho, a lot of people prefer it to the 2.0 because of the high revving and also being closer to the original concept of the MX-5 (light car + small engine)
@dultanur7 жыл бұрын
Same in Turkey, unfortunately. The price diff is so big they don't even import the 2.0 :(
@KlutchBelgium7 жыл бұрын
me i'll take the 1.5 too, taxes in belgium are EVERY year. First year for that car is only 800€ for the 1.5 (2600 for my 2005 Subaru)
@jeffmakor71356 жыл бұрын
I found the 2litre uninspiring. I remember the small sportscars of the 60's. many had small but eager to please engines. That's what I found in the mazda 1.5 mx5. To my utter surprise, I went for one but with the hardtop (rf). It still moved well despite a 45kg increase in weight, had great grip and is more than I'll need for British roads.
