Saw this just as I'm beginning a small diorama of a railway museum workshop area. I like they colors you got on the styrene.

That entire facility looks awesome…great job with the concrete…location and climate conditions will give multiple concrete colors so, you really can’t go wrong

Great job. One suggestion for painting or weathering loose items, like the strips of styrene for the concrete pads. Take a paint stirrer, lay some masking tape along it sticky side up. Tape it down at each end and lay the styrene on the sticky part. Gives you a nice handle to hold the item without messing up the paint. Thanks for sharing your work.

Nice work on the concrete. I'll keep that in mind for my projects. And recognized the Canadian Tire flyer! LOL!

Thanks. Good eye on the flyer haha.

Hi, you need to add two 55 gallon drums painted yellow marked "Spiil Kit" on the fuel dock 😉

You have a very steady hand. The color of the concrete looks very realistic.

Excellent work as always. Those details you 3d print knock it out of the park. I too struggle greatly with concrete colours. I’m finding an almost white grey to start with as a base seems to work better. Great job keep up the work

It's fascinating how many different ways concrete can be painted, and how many different colors concrete can be. One would think it should be easy to replicate haha.

I agree Concrete is very complex to model the color of, so much going on. In the future, try experimenting with tans or browns over the gray base. Concrete starts out gray but as it ages turns that browny-whitey-fadey- look. Vallejo has two colors, Cement and Concrete, that washed over the gray look really good. Also Rustoleum Camo Khaki brown is a great base too for cement. Nice facility there.

Thanks for the reply. You make incredible realistic road and concrete surfaces.

Hi Ya. Really great bit of modeling. Enjoyed it. Love the grill you measured it spot on. Those tanks are superb, well done with them. Going to try an experiment with my concrete base, use filler, did it on my small engine shed and looks great. Don't know if I'm going to vlog it in case I make a Fool of myself.😒 Thank you for sharing buddy. Thumbs up thumped 👍 .... Pete....

So I just totally randomly came across this video in my recommended feed and couldn't help but notice you referenced a photo from my layout at 8:30 in your video. Very awesome. I think the reason you weren't able to achieve a similar effect with the Woodland Scenic Concrete paint to what I had pictured is because I applied the paint to Smooth It whereas you applied it to styrene (I think that's what you mentioned). The smooth it plaster sucked up a good amount of the pigment so the color was much more desaturated than it is straight out of the bottle. After one or two coats of that stuff I applied a wash or two of India Ink with Alcohol to create depth in the cracks then some weathering chalks to create additional highlights and shadows. Hope that helps! Happy modeling!

What is a grizzly grate and why needed there? Same as livestock grate? Like the concrete!
@nscaler454Ай бұрын
It's kind of a mining term I guess. The grate covers a pit that the hoppers unload into. The grate is there to prevent unwanted larger items (like people) from falling into the pit.

There is an assumption that viewers have a clue as to what a grizzly grate is. And who makes them.
