I think it's great that has a snug tight so that way it can be strong and last for a long time.

Thanks. I tend to go slow and add layers as I go. A simple method that seems to work.

I'm 'lichen' yer scenery very much! You've developed a great eye for creating scale with your scenery! It all works so well together that it makes one wonder what scale you are modeling in! And I know it's N scale. I've been watching since you started building this layout! Everything is lookin' great!

BTW, it is pronounced "liken" so you had it right. Since lichen is not used much anymore, one trick to make it work and be realistic if you see a need is to roll in ground cover of your choice before you install it. Works very well in N-Scale where every scale item really makes a difference. Liking the updates!

Right at 13:37 ? If you put black electrical tape on the bottom of the ties connected to the bridge. You can ballast the track. When you remove the bridge the ballast will come with the bridge. When you replace the bridge the ballast returns with it. The sides of the cork I ballast as normal. But all in all it's a good hide. Looks good, and you can still slide the rail joiners back in place. Just a thought. It works for me.
@nscaler454 Жыл бұрын
that's a great idea. Would the black tape slightly elevate the track though?

The bridge and scenery around the bridge looks great! I would solder the rail joiners on the end of the bridge that is closest to a feeder wire. Leave the other end unsoldered for seasonal expansion (hopefully the rails have some room to expand?)
@Vman7757 Жыл бұрын
Not really. You can't tell on my layout. I have glued paper once. It works too. But you got to paint the paper gray or something.
@Chonkulease Жыл бұрын
Why not solder a feeder wire to the underside of the rail joiner? As long as the hole through the base board isn't too tight and there's enough slack on the cable it should still be free to slide on and off. Probably isn't necessary but could be worth doing if the bridge is coming off frequently

might be an option if I find the bridge is lowing power. So far so good though.

Just take the plunge and make the bridge permanent, you've done the main scenery below already, you're all set.

Your layout is beyond exceptional! Have you considered adding lights to your bridge(s)?

I thought about it very briefly. The work to do it wasn't worth it since it isnt that important to me
