Hi C Mastracci , I will say that you have been very busy. I like the way you have the benchwork laid out. Everything is going to work out with time and patience. Looking forward watching the build.. It may help when I get started on my new layout. Thanks for sharing . Have a good weekend. 😎😎 👍

time is limited and i haven't had patience in much of anything in life so this is on the highball to disaster... weeeeeee! well, there's a lot of truth to that statement but there is some planning happening so it's not a complete cowboy-job. If I can get a loop built to get trains running again it'll slow down to the right speed. the next step is to see what track parts i have versus what i need. and to do that - i need a track plan. here comes those horse hooves again... "yee haw!"

Layout looks good even though it is a construction work zone. You are doing a great job. Thank you for a real video with proper language. lol Great channel.

Let's just say the build videos will be voiced over because the actual language used during construction... well, it sounds like a construction site. It'll always be real though - that I can promise.

Your next step is wiring and take it slow and steady. My buddies always wanted to run trains and rushed wiring and later paid the price for it. My one friend had a rats nest of wires all the same colors and took a lot of work to find the short. Personally wiring is like a track plan , with out it you have to add or adjust your bus leading to more power drops. It looks great and will be interested on the following vids.

So I hate wiring. I love when everything works but trouble shooting is just a pain. I'm going to actually run the wires next - all the buses will be run back to the command station and then as i lay the track i can just tap the feeders in. I need to run a DC and a DCC bus for accessories and track, respectively. I need a crap load of DCC components so the circuit breakers are going to be added over time because the AR1s are needed now. Either way, I HATE messy wires - both because it annoys me and two, trouble shooting is painful.

Wow, you started the redo very quickly. I just got mine back to a somewhat of a running layout after a big remodel. Even at that I’m still tweaking things. Problem is I’m too much of a perfectionist and drive myself crazy, I know it should be fun though, I’m doing better at it though . Looking forward to seeing your progress…. Joe

I did have a jackrabbit start - but the fear of the changing seasons and the uncertainty in the materials markets sort of inspired me. Perfectionism is why a model railroad is never done - there's always one more something to do, add, or change. That's kind of the fun. Just don't let it become such an obsession that you don't enjoy it, that'll really ruin a hobby.

I look forward to the transformation. Keep the vids coming. Thanks

me too. i hope my figuring for the loops was better than my figuring for the relocation of sections. Not that I have much choice, though. I can't really make any one section wider than I did.

It always seems like chaos until it is just finished and working. Keep the faith, its looking like a fun project.
