Sofia's disappearance is even more messed up knowing that the cog had breeding camps all the way back in the pengilum war to repopulate the rapidly depleting male population. And with 1/4th of sera's human population dying on e-day, they no doubt put those camps into overdrive.

I can't believe sofias kidnapping wasn't shown in the game and the lancer and the one shot are both my favorite weapons in gears of war

I just ADORE the oneshot. Wish it came back in Gears 4 or 5. Sniper rifle heavy weapon.

When talking about sofia's kidnapping when i was younger, i thought it was the locus who kidnapped her, not other cog soldiers

I still believe it was the locust that caught her, but that paduk saying he only got one of them and that "He" dropped the cog tags, that he was alluding to him shooting Sofia to save her from a worse fate, which is why "He" dropped the cog tags, sofia's cog tags

Sometimes we don't think about the deeper levels to the realities in fiction, especially when the media is always drawing focus to a specific tone. Gears started with focus on pure action with the war against the locust, then grew into emotional horror with Gears 2 and 3, learning more about the locust practices, loss of characters, etc. Yett rarely do we get glimpses about the horrors of humanity itself in the games. Learning Sofia was basically human trafficked has got to be one of the darkest concepts I never took the time to connect to Gears, but it makes sense in a world like that, lawlessness runs DEEP and human trafficking, along with other atrocities, run more rampant than we are allowed to percieve. And this is aside from the breeding programs which at least STARTED with volunteer consent.
