This is probably my aviation highlight of 2020. I love to cover all these amazing and unique planes and the people behind the operation. They made aviation special! There was a few question why the bus don't drive to Leipzig. The bus is destined to Baku, Azerbaijan. The An-22 plane made a tech stop to refuel in Leipzig as Bremen has a short runway. After refuel, it continue to fly the bus to Baku.

Russia and Ukraine is not the same thing and shouldn't be used interchangeably. The aircraft is Ukrainian as well as the crew. The blue and yellow flags in and on the aircraft along with the blue and yellow shoulder patches worn by the crew exemplifies this fact.

Pchudo88 I am aware of the difference. I would never confuse either country with the other. I said Russia/Ukraine because these are by and large Soviet era aircraft, and things get complicated with that era of history I know it is a Ukrainian company (Antonov), but the Russians have those blue cockpits as well. Good job, Antonov crew! You gave Noah a very cool gift! Russian vehicles (airplanes, Soyuz rockets, etc.) are very strong. In the US, things are built in a different way but Russian equipment seems to stand the test of time. Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield said that he was trained to land the Soyuz anywhere on earth inside a 15-mile long oval using only a wristwatch and a pencil. That is impressive.

@@PauliusMickys this was desighned and made in the USSR. Why don't you understand it? it's very hypocritical to take credit for other people who also worked on this plane

Noah is almost my lucky charm, he made the painting and a month later I flew the AN-22!
@jamesgovett25013 жыл бұрын
I reckon the Antonio AN22 is a beautiful looking aircraft, viewing its design from the side it seems to have an ever so slight resemblance fuselage wise of that other beautiful aircraft the constellation, which we are lucky here in Australia to have the restored HARS Connie as a regular at our airshows

How cool was that? !!!!! Well done Sam. Very good content and story about this amazing aircraft. The crazy thing is the Russians actually built this big of a turboprop. The engineering to make this beast fly is truly stunning. Think about this An-22 the next time you look at the specs of the Spruce Goose which never went into production. What a machine!! I hope they can make it economical for special purpose logistics and keep it around.
