Thanks for a great video Sam - SAS Business Class looks really comfortable - interesting how much space they dedicate to galley area at the back of the plane! Really good to hear how they are trying to conserve fuel through implementing CDA and reducing engine use on the ground... with the overall effect of also being somewhat more environmentally friendly. Nice that you could ride up front on the way to Amsterdam - that's cool. I contracted to CHC in SA for many years, and once flew out to one of their bases in the cockpit jump seat on a Convair 580 (I think) - beautiful plane - it was good fun! Thanks for sharing and see you next time!

If I were American I would only choose European airlines, hereunder SAS when going between US and Europe. One thing is the better food, not least on SAS, but the delay/cancellation protections is SO much better than any of the US based airlines. AND it´s no hassle. Over a certain amount of hours you are offered either rebooking on other airlines or free hotel etc. You are also getting financial compensation in relation to delays. Same goes for internal EU flights.

Thanks for compiling this KZbin, Sam. FYI towards the end you mentioned that Shanghai was a destination served with the A350. That is no longer the case as SAS has joined several other European airlines in cutting some of their services to mainland China.

Thanks Alex. This announcement came shortly after I took my flight. It makes sense to re-depoly their small fleet of A350 to somewhere else.

Walked from TBIT to T7 airside at LAX several months ago instead of taking the shuttle bus. It was fairly well sign-posted, and a little crowded at several locations, but in general, it's a good way to stretch the legs, see some planes, and observe some of the security lines in action.

Sam is flying SAS from my home country. Me like. I am from Sweden myself and I really like this country. The Jukkasjärvi ice hotel is nice and quite unique but if you dont like long cold winter days I would really recommend a visit to Sweden around the Midsummer timeframe (Late june) whom has long days and summer sun all day up in north. The capital of Stockholm is wonderfull in the summer and you I could recommend a one or two days ferry trip to either Helsinki or Åbo cause of its amazing archipelago. Midsummer is a realy special Swedish holiday and Skansen in Stockholm is well known for its celebration of it. Arlanda is also a neat airport even if its not as big as Copenhagen is. We have tons of countryside to visit to. J.

Nice to see you finally make a video about SAS and being in Copenhagen. I guess the IKEA comment wasn’t a positive thing. I think SAS should make the lounge more exclusive looking because you were right about the IKEA look. Regarding the livery, I am also undecided. I think it depends on the weather - when there’s sun and blue skies, the livery doesn’t look that good but in grey weather sadly it looks a lot more at home 😅

Lovely business class cabin in their A350! My last SAS flight was about as long ago as yours, about 25 years, Amsterdam-Stockholm-Amsterdam, on a Super 80. I don't know if you had the same experience with SAS smoking policy that I did. When smoking was permitted during flight, every other airline put the smoking section in the rear of Economy and the back row of First. Not SAS. Their smoking section was all seats on the starboard side. Non-smoking was all seats on the port side. Basically, the entire plane was filled with smoke. I never flew them again. It was awful.

Great content How does the plane manage to turn while taxi'ing off the runway? The pilots' hands were on their laps.
@Mike-zx1kx16 сағат бұрын
Nope, not Captains left. Steering on the ground managed via a one hand operated steering wheel next to Captains left leg. It´s situated just under the top of his leg why you cannot see it. I looked at the clip again and you can easier see him operate it when they turn off the runway after landing in Copenhagen.
