That’s to much work. My husband and I have done that. Ugh! Nice fires with family and friends though. Enjoy!

great job! where are the sanders when you need them? just out standing how well the 70 can pull! Eric is such a great help on the millbrook! please pet Mr Bat cat the track inspector and Mr. Token for me.

@@artillerest43rdva7 I'm still trying to figure out where I'd put sanders on the 70.

When I volunteered at the SC RR museum , we carried buckets on both ends of our centercabs and rode the footboards and hand-sanded the track...all U need is a bucket U can easily get your hands in and sand or grit...you have a sander!

@@3ftsteamrwy12 I'll have to give that a try.

Great! at the time I was active as a member (late 1980s and 1990's) our sole power at the SC RR Museum were a trio of arthritic elderly centercabs , a former PRR 44-tonner blt 1946, a ex Army Trans Corp GE 45 ton side-rod, built 1941 and a 45/50 ton Porter side-rod blt 1949...last center cab built by Porter before they shut down in 1950. Hand.sanding was essential to climb the ruling 2% grade out or Rion Yard, as thew track was always covered, almost to total obsurity, by a massive growth of Kundzu...I always felt if you could refine kudzu squeezings , youd have a top-quality grease or journal oil..more thanm one I saw an engine trying to go UP the hill wheels spinning as it SLOWLY worked its way DOWNGRADE.

you guys are busy with it. I'd be tempted to tip it all over the bank and be done with it, but there would be no content in that. Anyway best wishes you can get it all done
@MillBrookRailroad6 ай бұрын
@tryingagain14 When round things go over the bank at that location, they tend to land in the road or on the neighbor's lawn with a very high risk of it hitting his house, shed, or garage.

@@MillBrookRailroad I see how that would be a big problem. Makes perfect sense. Thanks for the reply, have a good one. It's an interesting series on the clean up. Good luck

You and I both know that you need to fix or replace that switch in front of the engine house. It’s been giving you derailments since last year.
@MillBrookRailroad6 ай бұрын
@williamshanaman5098 The list of things to repair or replace is a very, very long one. Without an army of volunteers, things get prioritized. The engine house track is usually at the bottom of the list. You're more than welcome to come out and help fix things. We could use some experienced help.

The derailings gives a bad taste to Your railroad. That's sad. Changing from wheels to larva? Joking! One Swedish, 2 feet, veteran railroad started on old Decauville tracks, and derailed frequently. They became rerailing masters. At some time they upgraded the tracks, changing the ties and the rails to a higher class and don't derail.....
