Thanks for the video. Very impressive.I must give it ago. I am a new member of cwops, but so far I have not called CQ in the CWT. I can head copy ragchew at 28-30 wpm but typing in a callsign in N1MM logger in a contest, no way. SP is what I am doing at this time. I must give this a go.

Steve, Nice video.. very helpful. I found out that I am a bit rusty... lol. so this will be helpful to polish up my CW contesting skills. I guessing that I can throw my Winkeyer USB in the bag with my laptop and run some contesting practice from the in-laws over the holiday break. 73 and Happy Thanksgiving - K1QS.

you don't even need winkeyer. you can just run this straight out of N1MM

@@w9sn491 Gotcha.. I guess I am a bit slow. I was thinking that you could send send your exchange on a CW paddle. lol. But. since I am interested in running a long contest, it's a good idea to use the shortcut keys. A contest could get kind of tiresome sending every exchange manually with a cw paddle. Just the old school coming out in me. duh. (it's right there in your video) sorry about the senior moment and thanks again for the video.

@@K1QS_Radio Yes, when we contest, we do use a paddle, but only for fills or a question mark. Most contests, we make thousands of Q's, so only using the F' keys will not wear out an operator. I can't imagine using a paddle in a 48 hour contest like in the old days :)

Just click on File > New Database. You can see it at 0:08 in the video. I already had mine created, so I just clicked on Open Database, just below it.
