I discovered this song when I was stopped at a red light, a GMC Sierra Double Cab on 26’s pulls up, dude had like 5 percent tint on all windows. I’m sure he had at least 4 12’s in his set up, my whole entire car was shaking from the bass, shit was sick. All you saw was smoke flowing out the top of the pitch black window and the bass bumpin in your chest. Dude was big chillin.

Wow. This song brings back SOOOOO many memories. Remember jamming to this song 😄 on my big new stereo system i got for xmas the year it came out and my bf then (now fiance) also loved this song more then any other song back then and when he had a lot on his mind or in his emotions that day i always knew bc i could hear him blasting this song from his bedroom stereo system all the way across the street from my house and i would sit on my porch by climbing out the window and climbing down the metal beams to the porch below and take off to sneak across the street to b with him and stay all night with him listening to this song and entire album over and over again all night along with a bunch more of our favorites like Too Short Dr Dre Snoop Dog NWA Ice Cube Ice T Escape Tupac Biggie Smalls Timberland and so on and so forth and so on could go on and on about the best musical era that has ever existed to date music these days dont have shit on the music we had the privilege growing up to and growing up bc of it and learning so much from ......like the stuff our parents dreaded having to teach their kids about.....we didnt need our parents to bc we had some really amazing teachers AND THEY STILL R PRETTY DAMN AMAZING EVEN TO THIS DAY NO OTHER ERA WILL EVER BEAT THIS ONE NO MATTER HOW HARD THEY TRY. ...SO JUST GIVE IT UP BEFORE U EMBARRASS UR SELVES. I went for a drive by myself a few nights ago here in LA. I was bumping this banger with the windows down like I have for over 25 years. (it's the only way to listen to it) While stopped at a red light I faintly hear some guy yelling. Seems like he's yelling at me from 2 cars back. Dude on a Harley pulls up next to me at the next light and yells "Fuck yeah, Back to the Hotel!" It was a simple gesture showing mutual respect and love for a timeless classic. Can anyone name the last time anything like that happened to them? Probably not. Just proves how low-key dope this jam was & still is for many of us.

This was the tune that was playing on some guys head phones when I was in my high school gym back in 1992. I remember the horn, the bass line, the snare and the easy to understand lyrics. Music has the power to help me reminisce and remember something I haven't thought about in a long time. Here we are in 2021. I think I'm gonna be alright.

I remember the first time i heard this. Was either 2000 or 2001. I asked my brother if he had any rap cd’s i could get from him. He reaches in and pulls out a burnt cd he had. And he told me there wasn’t a lot of swearing because he knew our mother wasn’t going to let me listen to it if there was. I go upstairs, slap it in my JVC boombox, and started listening to what are now some of the greatest rap of the 90’s. Full of swear words and all. I’m 30 now, still have that great memory. Props to my big brother for being fucking awesome. I wore that damn cd out listening to it.
