To my opinion, the engine choice, twin "low tech" really reliable workhorse japanese engine, marined by beta, is spot on.

During the long part when you were discussing how difficult its become to get an A certification, I kept expecting the dialogue to end with “and since we expect most owners of this boat to treat it as a coastal cruiser, we decided a B certification makes more sense.” I’m glad you fought on and got the A. I cant wait to see one in person!

Such a classy boat with so much considderation for open sea crossing, love the dual enjine incorporation and all the detailed calculation taken into account on design level. Nordhavn has really set the highest standard in boat design, in my mind the best designed and capable exploration boats in the world. Well done on the excellent presentation video, hoping there will be many more of these in future!

Early in the video you talked about N46, N40 buyers going on to buy larger Nordhavn's. Makes good sense because many of these new N41 buyers will do the same. And also there will be some folk that maybe bought a Nordhavn too big for their needs and so the N41 will be their next step. Awesome presentation that has since turned out on point :)

wow Jim what a great Interview and how great and informative you broke it down. I live in san Clemente and saw the 2 N41 that must have just been shipped to the Marina. i was leaving on my friends Ranger tug and i said to my friend what the hell is that beautiful boat and we thought it was some kind of Knock off Nordhavn only to discover what it was. I think that having the boat built and being able to be delivered in Turkey will be a big plus for people that want to buy it in Europe.

I love everything about this boat over the original 40 with one exception... the looks. I get the updated class A requirements, the targeting of a cruising couple had a lot to do with the design, but it just lacks the salty, sea worthy - almost commercial - look of the 40. I'm sure many people will love this boat, but I'll likely go with the 40, or upsize into one with a pilot house. Thanks for the great video intro!

1) When will it be possible to see a complete video of a completed Nordhavn 41, including engine room, pilot house, electrical cabinet, lazarette, etc.? 2) From where do you access the stabilizers for future repair? 3) Is it planned to finish the roof railing on the starboard side? So the boat looks incomplete! 4) Which table do you have planned to be able to eat in the saloon? I have not found any information. 5) Can you clearly define the type of engines it has? I have already read different information. 6) When will be ready, besides the video, a complete catalogue with definitive pictures and not computer images? 7) What type of anchor and how much chain does the boat have?

why does a Northwest Trawler look like a Nordhavn?
@Tnapvrvideo2 жыл бұрын
I am now unclear where you stand on a (single main engine / get home engine combination) versus this new approach with the N41 using two main engines and two matching props. At 9:10, you conclude that you are better off with two main engines than you are with a main engine and a wing engine. Will new versions of your previously made larger boats like the N68 move to two (main) JD engines with matching props and forgo the smaller get home JD engine?

@davidparadis4903 жыл бұрын
I'm not a fan of keel cooling...while it has its advantages for keeping the cooling system closed looped, I just struggle with the thought if you ever grounded and tore it up, you'd be screwed...some of the new nordhavn are wet exhaust...that being said, im working towards buying this boat in 2022...i love it!

@@SergioMiletto8 Good grief, what an ignorant response. Sometimes you HAVE to go into & move about the engine room to address a potential problem at sea, an emergency, water intrusion, or any number of possible issues. My whole point is to prevent being thrown into a hot engine while having to move around while IN the mechanical space. There's a lot more in there besides just the engines.....

I always dream of such a boat. Then I realized 9 knots is just below 15KM an hour and 4 gallons are more than 16 Liters for 15KM distance, so these boats land at over 100Liters fuel per 100KM, where my car takes 7Liters only. And then I wake up and read stuff that there are super yachts that have a 1.000.000 Liter fuel tank. Hull efficiency forth and back, but you need sails and other means to feel "good" in this hobby....
@-ZELTHELD-4 жыл бұрын
@Asim Ayyubi No, I was simply astonished how still inefficient efficient claimed boats are when means of transport are compared. I'm still shocked that people can rave about a boot that sucks so much fuel, of course being more efficient then the rest. The pinnacle of what I have read was the Eclipse or so with a 1.000.000 million liter tank. I probably will stay shocked another decade or so.

@@-ZELTHELD- These are pleasure craft not a means of transport as in inter island ferries , and sorry to be petty , 4 US gallons is just over 15 liters
