N57D30 , N57 320.000km - Engine tapping / misfire / thud kind of engine noise.

BMW 730D F01 , N57 Engine with 320.000km on it. New Injectors, New chains , new crankshaft pulley, new water pump , oil changed 5000km ago with filters. I hear a slight "tapping" /MISFIRE ... "tuk tuk tuk" :) noise and seems to get louder under load. Maybe I am crazy but I hear something out of "round".
Listed for public opinion.
EGR with EGR pipes and cooler is removed.

Hi. Recently bought 730d 2012. Is that chain sound is normal to hear when you rev car? Because I have same sound and I am not sure should I change chain or is it normal sound for this engines. Thank you.

hi JAX, engine sounds good. Tuk sound makes when is open EGR valve. Air is whistling out of pipes. take a look downwards, red pipe usually fails.

EGR is removed with all the pipes and the cooler. I do have a small leak at the intake which I am going to replace next week. I will make another recording where ISTA keeps engine at 3500rpm to test MAF and there you can hear better. I can hear similar sound on my friends F07 530D but the "trrrrrrrrr" sound is not so loud as on my engine.. car drives perfect but when under load the sound is irritating in my ears :)

@@jonasjo202 Yeah , I am back at the Jaguar story which I sold because of a noise nobody could hear :) but at around 0:40 and starting at 0:51 when I hold it in revs you can hear something that in my ears sounds like a "missfire" or a valve that does not close all the way. Maybe is in my head or just simple tear and wear after 320.000 km..

An update : Today I took down the Exhaust manifold. 3 screws were not tight and I found a cracked gasket. Ordered new gaskets today and will replace them following days. By the looks of the cracked gasket I think I found the problem. Will keep you updated.

@@bmwsincekid No , same :) might be still an injector (even if they are all new) or wire from injector. Never had the time to take each wire and meassure from injector to ECU but one of this days I will. I still hear kind of a "broom" while accelerating strong from stand still but else car drives normal , engine sounds ok.

Think it sounds like mine, but mine only sounds like a deep knocking when driving on the highway. The deep knocking sound is only noticed while driving at steady RPM (2K) and then especially used with slow acceleration / increase of power whenever I move the throttle pedal. In Neutral mode like in the video shown it doesn't. Any ideas?

Well , I have stopped hunting this for now as I can not find the cause. HOWEVER I saw that one of the NEW injectors started acting up and has to high positive values so I will change this injector , then if this does not solve it I will stop. To much money and time used on this. To many parts changed at this and no noticeable change.

@@Mars-rs6lo No , I have the same noise like before. Changed exhaust manifold with gaskets also but under acceleration on low gears I still clearly hear some kind of rattling like noise .. sounds exactly like a cracked or bent exhaust manifold .. from 3rd gear up I don't hear anymore and also on low gears , now always or not always the same. Drove around 15k km since I started hearing this and nothing changed. So I'll drive it until something says boom :) if ever does.
