Despite being on a similar pace, the Miata footage looks like all of the ass is being hauled, while the Pontiac's footage looks like a peaceful sunday cruise. Goes to show you can't really trust video to feel how fast someone is.

This effect is real. I had GoPro footage of my riding a trail on 2 different dirt bikes, one little kids bike and a real MX bike. The footage from the little bike looked wicked fast. I was sure it had to be faster due to the greater agility and bla bla bla. I put them side by side in editing and the MX bike absolutely obliterated it, even though the footage looks and sounds completely tame.

@@undonebaton1835 The key is down-hill. Down-hill Touge really favors light cars without too much weight in the front. That's why Keiichi Tsuchiya's AE86 is able to gap any GT-R (stock or tuned!) in the down-hill touge, and an MR2 Spyder walked away from him. Up-hill the small cars get taken to slaughter, of course. But, route familiarity, driver talent, and kickass tires can overcome technical advantages pretty quick in real life. I know for a fact my NC Miata is faster in a downhill run than my buddy's 4.6 Mustang, but I can't get away from him. Partly because he's a better driver, and partly because he's willing to drive with the brake pedal faded all the way to the carpet, and I'm not.

The ls1 f-bodies were underrated from the factory as to not take attention and sales away from corvette even though they had the same engines and transmissions, they made the same hp as the vette at 350 hp regardless of what the advertised rating was. My trans am made 308 at the wheels on a dyno bone stock and that was normal that people were discovering on the forums back in the early 2000s. They were good handling cars too. The drivetrains are set behind the front suspension giving the car a near 50/50 weight distribution. Back in the day on the street these cars were direct competitors with the Toyota supras and were very popular in the American street racing scene. I think it was the popularity of the fast and furious movies and the animes like initial d and midnight wangan that popularised the jdm scene that led to these cars being overshadowed by the jdm legends. These cars had a lot going for them and are worthy of respect.

Look for headlights - especially if the road has reflectors. Also going in the opposite lane on entry and late apexing helps make double laning slightly safer.
@patrykrog81213 жыл бұрын
@@RaffleReefer10 Seeing as you also do it. What if there is a pedestrian ? I understand going fast but isnt it better to drive the whole road slow and then leaving someone at the end to make sure no people go onto the road or most importantly police?
@Wzrd83 жыл бұрын
@@patrykrog8121 Hopefully you can find a road that has no side walks, driveways, or intersections. Some where that only serves as a connection between small towns where other routes would be more traveled. That alone really cuts down all of those worries. No ones walking that at any time of day. Traffic is limited to people that both need to travel between those two points and live some where that makes it faster to take your route. There are only so many officers and they would rather camp higher traffic routes for tickets unless the locals have been making too many runs and the word has spread. Always scout your touges during the day and at speeds you wouldn't get pulled over for. Map them and try to figure out how heavy traffic is during all time periods. Finding out at 3am the touge is a commuters territory for an hour can really suck. Knowing this can give you a good guess at if and when police pay attention to that area. Mark a clear start and finish spot where you can safely park and turn around that keeps the route clear of three things at the top. You've got your self a spot. Though I've never been a part of a group that did any thing like this. You could get friends to post up at corners you think could use a spotter. They can just flash a blue or red light to say clear or oncoming. That way you don't need to worry about it. In my exp it was just bombing canyons and occasionally try not to crash into another idiot going the same way doing the same thing. Pretty damn fun.
@patrykrog81213 жыл бұрын
@@Wzrd8 yh i got friends that do it but i would be too scared to do it myself. The roads where i live are so good but no where is rural enough and there is a lot of police at all times. There is a lot of people racing here and some people always complain and the police now know where the best roads are and just wait there and then the other roads are not worth going to
