I also have fibrous dysplasia. I have it in my Tibia, I got a bone marrow transplant done last February. Surgey was a success according to my surgeon, I have a metal rod and screws in my leg to support my Tibia. With out it I leave myself open to fractures. Pain is pretty bad sometimes too, and with the metal rod, the fall and winter are sometimes unbearable. CT spec scan tomorrow, so we will see if the bone marrow filled in the hole in my bone. If not he could try the surgery again. If the hole has been filled with new marrow and successful growth, that means the metal rod is flexing on my bone, causing the pain. Surgery is an option, you just have to determine if this is the road you want to go down. It isn't easy as you know, living in almost constant pain. So I just wanted to reach out and let you know you are not alone and that I completely understand how this can affect your life.

Hope she okay. I also have FD and I fractured femur twice when I was younger. They put 2 rods on my left femur and it works my last surgery was when 13 years old and I’m 30 right now. They took one rod out when I was 18 years old and I still have one rod in left femur.
