Back In The Day, Some Dude In School Used To Say That Adidas Shoes Were Crap. I Believed Him… Until I Saw The Adidas Ad With Kobe Wearing The Eqt. I Liked Its Design. And Then Came The First Kb8. A Schoolmate Of Mine Had It And I Liked It A Lot. Back Then Kids Used To Buy Shoes Only From Nike, Reebok, Fila And Converse As They Were The More Well-Known Brands. I Guess When Kobe Gained Popularity, Kids Started Giving Adidas A Try. Indeed Kobe’S First Few Adidas Shoes Were Super Sweet. The Adidas Kobe One Was Something New When It Came Out. My Favorite Colorways Of That Model Were The Silver/Gray+Black And The Ice Blue+Black One. I Wanted A Pair But They Were Quite Expensive Back Then. And, Yes, I Was Not A Fan Of The Adidas Kobe Two. It Looked… Out Of Place On And Off The Court. Though I’M Still Glad Kobe Was Able To Win A Championship In Those Shoes. Or Did He Wear Something Else When The Lakers Won In 2002? After watching the reviews, here is my say. Adidas wanted to make Kobe shoes like a sports car. They were going for the Aerodynamics. 3rd pair shows that air vents on the toe box and side of the shoes. (Dont get me wrong it was hideous) It grew on me like the Yeezy Wave Runners. Ended up buying Kobe 2 lol. . Kobe Part 2 video will be interesting. This is where Kobe series really take off. Nike Kobe signature line was very controversial in the beginning, because Kobe was accused of rape. It was a bad marketing for Nike at the time. Lebron received a 90 mil contract vs Kobe received 50 million. A kid who came straight out of high school vs A man who 3 championship ring. Huarache 2k4 and 2k5 wouldve been Kobe 1 or 2 but they pushed his signature line 2 years later. Nike wanted to make sure he could bounce back, before giving him his own signature line. Air Zoom Kobe 1 was not even debuted in the beginning of the season. They were debuted in the All-Star.

Almost a joke that the AJ16 and KB3 prototype were designed at the same time; the KB3 just after the AJ16. Cap toed, or something, that's where the clown/bowling aspect comes from. Cap toes only work on business/dress shoes; technically the Converse is a cap toed shoe - hint: people only wore cap toes and brogues in the days of the Colchester and the Converse/Purcell. I own the AJ15 and it's an elegant shoe, not for everybody - an acquired taste. Now I just need the Kobe 1/Crazy 1 to complete my 1999/2000 ball shoe collection.

The KB8 was a special shoe. I bought my pair fall of 97 before basketball tryouts my Jr year of HS. I failed to make the team but at least I looked good relegated to JV. I didn't try out for basketball my Sr year and continued wearing the KB8 casually all throughout that year and the next in college before discarding them because they wore out. It was retroed and is still available in September 2023.

@@NachoAverageFinds Nah. adidas is what put Kobe on the map. Everyone in the 90s Literally EVERYONE thought he as all hype and saw him as some 'get rich quick' kid. Had adidas not scooped him up who knows what his sneaker line would have been? Plus, the shoes that ere coming out at that time were catered to those who did not have access to hardwood courts. In the days you had to prove yourself on the concrete/cement and build up from there. Now it's all soft rubbers and materials that break after the first few uses and on the outside courts? Forget it. The Nike line as a whole is overrated.

The original Kobe 1 from Adidas is my all time favorite Kobe shoe. i have a long love history with them. I scored 30 points in a crucial game as a kid and my dad said i could get a pair of shoes, i went to the mall and picked out the Black Kobe 1's, long story short, nobody noticed them because they were triple black lol so i returned them a few days later and got the space ship silver pair. ah man great choice. i LOVED those shoes and worn them into the ground, eventually becoming paint shoes, yea that worn lol. In 2014 i was fortinunite enough to know a girl working at footlocker, i wasnt into shoes again yet then but i NEEDED the Kobe re release. i got them in stormtrooper white, so sexy omg. i never worn them and kept it as a collector item, i eventually sold them to pay bills years later and now that Kobe passed, their a $1000 shoe. ill never be able to own them again and im so mad, but hey the memories!!!!!!!
