Nacon Revolution Pro 5 Has a BIGGER Thumbstick Issue Than I Thought

What I assumed to be a faulty uncalibrated Hall Effect module from Nacon is actually a baked in outer deadzone when in PC advanced mode which could be noticeable when not on PS5/4. Further more I STILL cannot get the application working on either of it's supported platforms: Mac and PC, although I will say that black scratch isn't on the faceplate of this unit so that's good.

I think the biggest issue is Nacon software if so many people are having trouble getting connected. Which definitely warrants negative feedback. For what it's worth I have this controller and have had no issues with the software. That's how I discovered what the issue you are having is and the problem by the way also warrants negative feedback. The default profiles for some reason have that left thumb-stick set to "Sensitivity+" mode in the software suite which is their equivalent to the magical "RAW mode" Gamesir has (raw mode is the left stick in your video it removes the software deadzone). So, by default for whatever reason they decided to make those profiles have sensitivity+ on the left and off on the right. Since people can't get the software working nobody can see that this is the issue. Definitely was a terrible decision by them to have that setup out of the box and a double strike for the software issues others are having. I guess if you are lucky enough for the software to be working (i'm on windows 11 using cable that came with controller) then it's not so bad. I am looking forward to the next year though, I believe we will see some interesting advances with the thumb sticks that give users more control over the sensitivity or even higher resolution modules. Hopefully Nacon does watch/read comments here and makes adjustments to that default setup as well as fix the software ASAP. I personally like being able to turn that setting on/off for both sticks I created 2 custom profiles one on and one off. So long as you turn both on sensitivity+ or both off and don't have that nonsensical default profile they ship with. It has a different feel for each that can both be good depending the situation.

interesting. i wish he would take this info more seriously, as its not just a wives tale or a myth like he makes it out to be. its an actual separate joystick calibration, and while i agree, that its 100% on nacon for making bad pc software, i still think he should at least acknowledge that its not just a "faulty calibration" like he seems to think. its simply a different style of calibration and one that i personally prefer on my gamesir. nacon really needs to fix their software tho, as the controller is getting pretty unjustly shit on for it, when in reality i think this is one of the best all around pro controllers on the market. also it looks absolutely badass, which doesnt matter, but is still nice.

Your videos gave me sanity. I thought I had a faulty controller and was about to return it because I had the software issue. Someone commented they uninstalled REWASD then it worked, so I started that process and during it REWASD prompted me that if Nahimic was running it would mess up REWASD. So I didn’t uninstall REWASD; I looked at Task Manager then hit “End Task” for Nahimic as well as the Game Controller Mapping Service and Gaming Services. Then I launched the software as Admin, re-plugged in my controller and had it in PS5/A/Wired modes and the software recognized it and did a firmware update. Then I was able to set profiles. Sharing for anyone else having this issue. Ending these tasks helped me and I didn’t have to uninstall REWASD.

Since I mainly play on PC or my steam deck I am just waiting for the Scuf envision pro that I ordered to come in. It would have been nice to have hall effect sticks on them but I will see how small the deadzones can be to try and make it more responsive similar to hall effect. Now it would be cool if the hall effect boards and stick sold by Jun Zeng could be used on the Scuff then it would be the perfect controller for me.

This doesn’t matter, left stick is only used for movement, having a small outer deadzone helps you reach max input on the left stick faster. Which is what you want for movement. Where as that isn’t the point of the right thumbstick which is used for aim and hence the no deadzone. Makes perfect sense brother, use your brain for two seconds.

Thats pretty wild, for circularity test on classic (pc) both my thumbsticks are at 19% Avg error but in Advanced they both go down to 1% Avg error.

Hello Guys I’m a PS5 player and a FPS game enthusiast. I recently bought this controller and I’ve been using it for two days and so far I don’t like it which makes me sad because it seems like such a great controller. I’d say the biggest issue I have with it is the way the paddles are set up… the two lower buttons are so close to the edge that makes it so difficult to actually hold your controller. I constantly was thinking to myself how sensitive they were that I can barely grip the controller… even went as far as changing the way I hold the controller because I’m a mix of claw/paddles. I ultimately gave up because I was constantly jumping and pulling out meds while in the middle of the fight. The format of the thumbsticks was new to me but I wasn’t upset I understood and rebinded buttons to work around it so I was working with it. The bumpers are extremely sensitive and unlike mouse click triggers where you feel it …these don’t have any indicator of when you’re actually pulling it… you just stop halfway so you have to constantly hover over the bumpers. As far as the aiming goes it felt okay… I didn’t tune it in the app but I was aware I’d have to so I didn’t mind if I missed some shots but I’ll say it does feel very precise.. I believe I’m going to return it and that’s a damn shame cuz I wanted to love it.

I got this game pad a couple of weeks ago. I was able to get onto the app as soon as I received it. It's been great to use. It's the only hall effect stick controller that reacts and is as accurate as pro controllers with analog joystick. The controller is super comfortable to hold but a bit on the heavy side. I have good size hands and tend to enjoy larger controllers but the weight on this one can wear on my hands if I use for a long time. That's without the added weights. I couldn't imagine adding any additional weight. Other than that it's great. I change controllers pretty frequently while playing games. Since I got this controller I've changed less and less. This controller is the best preforming one I've used overall, since I predominantly look for thumbstick response and accuracy. I mainly play NBA2K so I'm constantly looking for any controller that has the best reaction time to counter the latency of their servers online.

I love the controller, but mine has a problem with the right stick activating the r3 button simply by pulling down on the stick. It's really annoying.

I have the software working on both MacOS and Windows. I use mostly for CoD and now that I’ve been able to tweak the settings I’m starting to enjoy the controller. My only gripe is the right thumbstick pops off during gameplay. No issues w the left. Very odd and I’ve seen the exact same report from other users. It can be avoided but a huge pain.

I am in Canada and I have had 2 problems with mapping my Scuf Reflex Pro. This controller is not available in Canada !!! Now I am sure Nacon will bring it out. I have to admit it really comes down to personal preference and how much you really want to play. I loved Nacons corded version for PS4. I know cords are passe, but they are on the cheaper side, but it was the size I liked and the off set analog sticks. Fortunatly I am headed to the USA for christmas "thank you Santa" I will be purchasing one of these controllers down there

I must be lucky...I got the PC program to work. I use my Nacon Pro 5 for the PS5 . The only gripe I have is the lower back buttons that are placed on the handles...I keep accidentally activate those buttons during game play.

If you are still having issues with the software here is what I did to be able to edit my controls. Just select to Add Slot and replace one of the default slots. Once that is done you can now select your new slot and edit to your heart's content!

Here’s a question. When testing my Xbox one series controller on gamepad tester, the joysticks resting value was zero. No decimals. All zeroes. I’ve never seen that. I check on my Mac as well as checking it through my phone. Same results. Am I doing something wrong or do I have a really weird one off?

Only way for me to connect the controller to the PC is using it under the PS4 mode and boom. Weird but it works on PC under PS4 mode only. In case anybody still experiencing this issue and did not address it yet.

Thanks for your videos. Actually, A month ago, I was searching for a controller with 4 back Paddles. I only play Apex Legends and Call of Duty on PS5 and I have Dualsense EDGE but i need 4 back Paddles, I watched many of your videos to choose which one is good to buy, but I can’t find most of them in the country that I live in it now and they don’t ship them to this country too, I found only the (Razer Wolverine v2 Pro and Victrix Pro bfg) here but you and most of the reviewers said a negative things about them, and i saw that Nacon will release this new REVOLUTION Pro 5 on October 31, and I was waiting all this month to watch some reviews before buying it but now and after i watched your 2 videos and “(I’m using MacBook Pro too)”, I changed my mind and I don’t know now which one from this two controllers (Razer or Victrix) I can buy now. Can you tell me your opinion? Thanks. Also some people told me to buy this (eXtremerate Rise4 remap kit) and install it in a normal Dualsense controller, but I don’t know if it is good or not!. Also I don’t want to buy a new Dualsense controller + this eXtremerate kit to install it and maybe after that I will install it wrong and destroy the motherboard for the new Dualsense “(because I will need to remap the L3/R3)” and then I lose the money for both of them 😅

Hi, I have this gamepad, I managed to get the software running on my AMD laptop, the problem with the circularity seems to be a setting inside the software called "Sensitivity +", when it's turned off the circularity is a perfect 0.0 on both sticks. Unfortunately if you can't get into the software then you can't change this setting.

Response curve always should be linear without any accelerations or slowdowns.

@@Tex-a-licious Actually it'd depending on in-game (or more , developers) implementations of controller aiming , settings etc. but I bet you know that. One of the games that have really good controller implementations are modern warfare 2019 (mw2 too) , apex legends and the finals. The main point it , the better linear values are when you move your analog stick , the more consistent aiming you have. Acceleration , slow downs , strange stick deflections , smoothing etc. is very bad to learn muscle memory. It's works like in Windows's Mouse enhance pointet precision, you just can't build muscle memory or get same mouse movement because values is not consistent.

Currently using a Dualsense on PC for Like A Dragon: Ishin! and wish there were more games that utilised the Dualsense features (the adaptive triggers are amazing in a game like Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart). We PC users get the Dualsense prompts when using Steam, but developers never make use of adaptive triggers or haptics - for instance, Mortal Kombat 1 which came out recently. Or Resident Evil 4 Remake which does have Dualsense features on the PS5, but not the PC versions.

I got mine two days ago and I’m still getting used to the Xbox joystick setup and the buttons on the back. But I only got it to prevent stick drift. Everything else is just gravy. I went through 6-7 ps4 controllers and my less than a year old ps5 controller already sends my character into a wild drift that makes the game unplayable

I have this controller and I do not have an issue hooking it up to my pc and configuring it for the ps5. I am still working on fine tuning it for smoother aim on apex. It's extremely customizable for me and my game play. I love it

8:13 what do you mean with circularity issue not recognisable on ps4/5? That you have no tool to check that this problem is present in ps4 or 5 mode or it isn't present at all in these 2 modes? I can tell you, that in ps5 mode there is still something feeling wrong with this controller. By playing street fighter and trying to hold down back(↙) with the analog stick you need to be extremely precise. In contrast, the normal Dualsense controller has a much wider "range" where you can get down back. i got this because it's the only controller that is: - licensed PS5 so works on ps5 and pc for my setup - offset Stick layout - hall effect sticks Never tried the software, so that is something i have to do

@@JstarJoker1 horrible, triggers feel like a $15 controller maybe if they fixed that and put the fighting buttons feel to the regular style buttons and make it easier to replace parts then maybe we’re talking but it’s too much for them being so cheap. I exchanged it for the Wolverine v2 pro sticks have some give before it moves but the back buttons are in the worst spot. the lack of deadzone customization kills it in fortnite and other games. Trying the dual sense edge when I get the chance to return this wolverine.

@@holymolymacaroni4151 thanks for the information bud..I've been down the rabbit hole of buying a pro controller been comparing all of them via user feedback for me currently I'm thinking the dualsense edge is looking superior I was on the fence between that and the nacon revolution pro 5 as one of the major selling points on the nacon is the hall effect analogues as I've already gone through 4 standard dualsense controllers but I do think the edge has them few features more than the nacon and the fact that gulikit are planning on releasing hall effect analogues for the edge might just be the deciding factor

I didnt have any problem...I had the nacon 3 and was hooked, then the unlimited pro 4 and after trying a scuff, you nacon is just the best controller, and for me by a good margin...is the posotion of the back buttons that makes the most difference. Then I got a ps5 and was waiting for the next nacon...then I got one, and again, is jist amazing. Yes, it doesnt have the vibration for ps5 games and the adaptive triggers like in the dual sense or the edge, but I dont mind, it is just to good...maybe my mind got so used to those back buttons, its like when I grab another controller I canto play! My hands automativaly search for those buttons...and it feels so good, so premium...and again, didnt have any issue with the controller or the app which is amazig, it let us change many settings that make a lot of difference...it is quite easy foe me to use it, I got both triggers with short push and in the app is only need to aelect that option. This is the number 1 pro controller for ps5 and is not even close

Can you seriously still not use PS4/5 mode on PC and have it recognise as a PlayStation controller rather than Xbox. That is crazy to me considering the price is that expensive issues aside.

they probably did this because a lot of games all ready normalize (basically conform the raw / square value from the stick/input movement value to a circle) there movement input values otherwise your character would move faster when moving in a diagonal direction than if if you were moving front, back, left, right. if you have a radial calculation on the controller from the factory and then the game has a radial calculation for there movement input in game as well, it would feel overly sensitive in the corners and overall kinda weird. you shouldn't be able to feel the difference between the sticks in any game i can think of.

have you tried to connect the new scuff to the cronus to see if it will work with xbox and PS yet? Well at least the PS because now microsoft might have it blocked. I'm using wolverine v2 chroma with cronus i have not gotten any error messages. I hear as long as its a microsoft approved controller it wont give you a notice about your cronus zen. I need a little advice. I am burning through PS5 controllers (I think maybe I am too aggressive with the joysticks). I have had two drift on me in a year. Is there a controller anyone could recommend to address this issue? I bought the Nacon (through Amazon, luckily it seems) but after watching the full review on this controller I am considering just returning it. Up for suggestions.

@@JSHM01 no just google them. AIM controllers, scuf controllers etc. you have to buy from their website. I recommend aim myself. They usually have a good discount code available and their back paddles are the best. They also got lifetime warrantee on their controllers. Everyone else’s are only 6 months or a year. No warrantee covers stick drift tho. Only on modified parts mostly. I think aim covers stick drift for a couple months tho.

its a software issue, basically its something you have to go into the software and turn off, its not a faulty stick, its just a different calibration, that turns off the regular stick deadzones and makes the sticks more "sensitive"

Bought it for my girlfriend. Claims it works slower on cod than her previous nacon 4. Like rubber band

I have like a little "clicking" noise on the right stick when i do circle motion and listen to it closely.. the left stick is completely silence. Is my controller defective or is this considered "normal" ? Could you check yours and tell me your expereience? 2nd As soon as i customise the curve on the right stick and dont use the presets (progressive etc) and go to test in app the stick wont go all the way full circle anymore, dont matter what shaft option i use.. but happen only when i manually change the curve. Its fine with the preset curves. Could you check that too if its "normal" ? Just wanna make sure if i have to really return it or not. Because if its line a problem on every nacon five i dont have to go through all the struggle to get a new one just to find out it still has the same errors or i even get a even worse controller worst case...

Try completely closing out the software through task manager and then reopen the software. I had the same issue and the software wasn't noticing when I had followed all the steps. Follow the steps first, then open the software and it should work!

So question for anyone that wants to answer. Trying to find an Xbox style controller for PS5. I was looking at that victix BMG and then the razor V2 and both of them kind of seem just too expensive for their build quality. But I'm going to test both of them out. It's wondering if there was any other Xbox style controllers for PS5. My reasoning is I don't know if it's just because ergonomically the PS5 controller doesn't fit in your hand correctly like the Xbox does just naturally. The PS5 you got to cock your hand weird and I don't know that's what's hurting my hand or if it's that dual sense vibration haptic feedback yada yada. But for whatever reason it's giving me hand and wrist pain and I don't really have wrist issues it's pretty uncommon but I've gotten some pain here and there outside PS5 bothering me and I've never had an issue on PC or Xbox using their mouse or controller. I like a PS5 controller in the Xbox design with rumble packs but it doesn't really seem to be option but if anyone else has any other controllers out there. Thanks

After watching this, just wanna highlight some of the experiences for paying controllers that are nearly half the price of the console: -Razer raiju ultimate: Shitty stick drift issues that has been ongoing even with firmware update to the point Razer gave up - Nacon Revolution unlimited: No stick drift issue, but god that awful whine sound on the L2 and R2 is disgusting - Dualsense edge: Disgusting battery life - Razer Wolverine V2 pro: Occasional stick drift, had to replug the usb adapter to reset it. In conclusion: Don't get any pro controllers lol
