makes sense, this was originally a hungarian folk song called “Azt mondják nem adnak engem galambomnak” in 1848 hungarians made that folk song a song of the revolution and slovaks who originally sided with the hungarian revolution, wrote this lyrics. Then when slovaks started organizing a smaller revolt against hungary, this song became their anthem.

@@janix_sk6052 On the east of Slovakia and the west-south of Ukraine those are not Ukrainians but Rusyns, another Slavic ethnicity without nation of it's own. But in Czechia There is a small region called "Slovácko" which means Moravian Slovaks, it's on the west side of the borders so there are some Slovaks living outside of Slovakia in bigger minority that's probably the only one and then in Vojvodina in Serbia there are some Slovaks

Actually the full version is unofficial and it would be dishonorable to sing it in full version. Official slovak anthem is to be sang with only 1st 2 parts and not all 4.

Yes there is. But sadly the only extended version has the extended portion very badly made. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ppa9XqSDatGCf9k ( 1:19 is where the extended one begins ). The official anthem does not include the extended portion so there is not a good recording of it.
